It's not gone, it's 'hopefully' improved. Slowly but surely.

But the system that was in place under Fonzu just wasn't working anymore I'm afraid. More work than was needed for everyone involved. And if I decide to hand this over or bring more people onboard, I certainly don't want to leave them with a major hassle. It's supposed to be free fun, not a ton of work. >.<

What was wrong with how fonzu run the club? From what i know everybody loved it and it made the club more lively.

There was nothing wrong with how he ran the club. It was just becoming unwieldy when you had several dozen submissions coming in at a time. Most aspects have remained the same, it's just the submission process and the forum that's improved overall.

Now just looking at it from the members viewpoint: They had to create a character, and a bio. Then they had to submit both to the club, with the bio in the note itself. Then they had to go to the forum and comment that they were ready for a fight. Then they had to create the image when the fight was set up (which is the point of course). Then they had to submit the image plus the description of said image.

The part that's streamlined for them is that they only have to submit a link to their deviation, the power level that they can reach, and what they are. A bio is preferred, but not entirely necessary. They go to an actual forum here on site and can interact with others on the spot and it's extremely easy to find the thread they made. There's a little difference for the members that you can see there, but the process is still mostly the same. With the addition of power levels, they can look and see exactly who their character could fight against reasonably, and be able to work out a good duel with the other characters creator without worrying that someone will come up with some new power level on the fly or become more powerful than their character is (godmodding in essence).

Now let's look at the administrative side. You have several notes with full bios and links to images. You have notes with battle submissions and links to those images plus description (usually not though, so we had to go get'em). Ok, no big deal. Except now you have to upload the character image, plus the bio, plus add in the link to the original, plus add links to all the other characters that belong to that creator. And you might have to do this 2-5 times, depending (sometimes more). Then for your battle/duel submissions you have to upload that image, plus the description, plus hunt down the links to all the other images within that particular duel that's taking place (because they were rarely provided), plus put down the credit of the creators (which may or may not be provided). This may be upwards of 3-10 images (again depending).

Then you have to go to the journals updating the battles, duels, members, and characters, plus provide links to all of them (except members of course as the icons do that for you). And if anyone said they were ready for a duel or battle royale in the Forum comments, then you had to go place that in the journal. And if someone replied to that individual directly, you had to hunt that down too. Not easy to do in a deviation that had well over 400 comments in it.

If people faved the image that was submitted in the club, then we had to hunt them down and send them a note asking them not to fav it and go to the correct, already provided, link. And sometimes that got really ugly, and frankly...it sucked. All of this can easily eat up a couple hours of work.

I'm certainly not paid enough to 'work' for the club. Hence my comment about it being free fun.

From the administrative side, it is now much easier if members only have to provide the specific details of their characters, links to them, and links to their duel/battle submissions. We can easily search the forum, locate who wants what, add them to the "Waiting for..." duels and battles journal list, add their characters to the characters roster + their power levels, and we simply favorite their images so they go into the club's favorites gallery. Absolutely no issue with having to send people notes asking them not to fav images in the club's main gallery because the only images that will belong in there are those outstanding peices that are voted on to go in there, and images made expressly for the club, such as the Art Jam collages or CSS journal images.

This is not to say that there can't still be improvements. Just right now...no one has suggested a thing to improve or change what is being done. Not one peep. So either we're doing something really right....or something really wrong and nobody is speaking up.

Believe me, having a lively club is what we're going for, and being bogged down in administrative beaurocractic bunk was NOT lively in the least. It's impossible to go looking for new members because frankly...we've got lives outside the club (as is evidenced by the fact that Negathus is in the middle of some military service issues and I'm going to be moving soon). As it was, we were mostly just maintaining and trying to tread water. It's why we have a storyline for people to jump in on now, and specific Club characters for people to fight in the clubs Art Jams. It's different, it's quick, and it's easy, and doesn't interfere with duels or battles in the least.

I hope you see what I'm getting at. The rules themselves haven't changed much at all, other than the addition of a couple things, such as the power levels (which I think makes sense...it is DBZ styled after all). But that's the long and short of it, and we (Negathus and I) have asked the members multiple times if they had an issue with the ideas that we talked about implimenting, or did put into place and so far there doesn't seem to be any *knock on wood*

Yea, there's going to be some dust settling, and it's kinda going to suck at first. Big changes usually do. But I think it's far more efficient this way and will allow for faster 'service' time as it were.

The last time I called for people to jump up and help out, only one said a thing. That was Negathus. And the auditions for said job where open for months.

That should say something I think.

Adding more people doesn't fix the inefficiency that was in place though. That should be taken care of now. And, I should mention, all the changes to be made have been mentioned in journals before they were actually put in place for people to voice their opinions. And again, no one has said anything. So either people don't care, they approve, disapprove....whatever it is, they're not saying. So there we are.

That still doesn't mean it's canon. It's STILL re-writing the storyline. There WAS no third son, and Goku would not have had one as Chi-chi was pregnant with Goten before he died, after which he wouldn't have been around to make anymore.

The point is, it's a bit hard to cross characters in battles if they're all related or something and not have them know each other. He should at least like..say it's an alternate reality.

I think the point is no one would really accept it. You know, as we like the DBZ series as it is, and that's why we're fans of it and having to use your character would force us to wre-write the series we love.

Other characters who have connections to canon characters don't ALTER THE ENTIRE STORYLINE of the story to create said characters.
