Yeah, I am constantly like "ugh dat name". I'm sure because I draw wolves and have this depressing ass name, people think that I'm like some little emo kid in on that wolf train. Urghhh. My only issue is that I'm gonna have to remake my FurAffinity as soon as I do this because I hate the name there too but they don't have the ability to change your name.

Furaffinity doesn't allow you to change your name? Weird, I wasn't aware of it. Luckily, I made an account there when I was of saner mind (ie- older) and it's either this exact name or very similar to it. xD I always forget. But I do agree, people are probably thinking you're one of THOSE kids, lolol. 'Course, it's totally up to you. Did you have another one in mind?

Yeah, FurAffinity is the most active of the furry art websites, but they are still very primitive compared to just about every other art website. X_x I made my account just about a year ago, but I just used the same name so that people could find me easier.
I'm probably gonna change my name to KiraLoup since that's the name I go by, as like an artist, musician, and writer, and pretty much in "real life" too.

I can totally see what you mean about FA. xD I enjoy the community and whatnot, but their inbox system and whatnot drives me up the wall sometimes. And with the lack of username change on top of it, they need to be doing some upgrades, lol. Ah well. And that would be an excellent name here.

Yeah, there are a lot of things about the community that drive me nuts, but it's been great that it at least exists so I can keep up with the furry community. I've been more active with the furry community down here in the south recently, going to Furry Weekend Atlanta and the Jacksonville Furry Picnic, and actually having an FA has been a great way to keep in touch with everyone since a lot of them don't have dA's.
I'm glad that no one else has thought to call themselves "Kira Loup" yet. I'd be sad. Very sad.

I like FA because, for one, there are some amazing artists on there, and for another everytime I've uploaded something there I've gotten the nicest response. It just feels like such a closer-knit community than dA, which can be kind of impersonal at times and is often hard to be recognized in. Or maybe that's just me, hah. Anyway, I don't consider myself very seriously a part of the furry community, but I do enjoy seeing the art and trying my hand at it on occasion. I actually think I draw better anthro characters than I do human characters, for some reason. xD

Well, I know on Elftown there was someone with a somewhat similar name, Kay Loup or something, so it would've been a possibility. I'm sure I'm not the first person to think to use the French word for wolf because they liked the ring of it.
I feel like FA tends to be a more tight-knit community because like everyone who is involved in the furry fandom tends to know each other after a while. When I went to FWA and the Jax picnic, everyone there knew each other except for me because I was new. On deviantART everyone just wants to get views, they don't really care about comments or friendships much. I mean, I've made friends here. But mostly I just get favorites, and I don't really care much about favorites.
I'm better at anthro characters too! xD I've found kind of a niche in that to some degree, because it's like drawing a human except I get to draw animal faces and tails and things that I enjoy like that. I'm not so sure that I consider myself a furry in the traditional sense of the word, I'm more spiritually connected to my fursona than most are. But I have had fun with the community since I've gotten into it.

I have noticed that everyone seems to know everybody else, hah. Nobody really knows me because I haven't been to a get-together and I post stuff maybe once in a blue moon. Then again, I don't post much anywhere nowadays. xD Hopefully that will change once I get home...
I think the animal faces must have something to do with me being better at them too, but at the same time my bodies seem to improve drastically when they're anthro and I just have no idea why that is. xD And I'm with you on not necessarily considering myself a furry. I've always associated myself with foxes on a sort of spiritual level, I guess you would say, but that doesn't mean I totally see myself as one, hah. I'm hoping I'll get into the community a little bit more once I start posting more frequently (if I can kick myself into stop being so lazy...).

I need to post more too... I've been hiding out on Tumblr more so than art communities. I've been making friends there and they talk to me a lot more than most people here do oddly enough. xD
That happens with me, too. I think it's because even though you're essentially drawing a human body, it's got animal things to it like... the neck gets to be thicker, the hands can be thicker, when you add fur it leaves less room for like weird "what the hell is that" parts of the skin. I guess I'm a bit more furry than you because I pretty much consider myself to be my fursona, but I mean... it's more.. spiritual than like... someone who designed a sparkledog so they could draw yiff, if that makes sense. xD Most people are furries out of fandom moreso than like... naturey connection.

I've always been better at animals than people. I do not understand how to hand. Even when I make them look good, it's more of tweaking it enough times that it finally started to look okay.
My fursona is really spiritual to me just because by like mentally becoming them when I was in school being bullied badly, that helped me cope. Like "you all may be lame as fuck and going nowhere in life, but I have the strength of my inner wolf, and my pack of real friends who actually like me."
I actually have like two unnaturally colored characters (wouldn't call them sparkledogs because they're not terribly designed with no regard to color theory). One of them is the mascot for my business with my girlfriend (but he's a white wolf with bio-luminescence so not too crazy) and the other is a blue dog furry I made up because someone asked me to draw pr0nz for them and I wanted it to look different from my normal stuff oops. xD

xD I forgive you for your near-sparkledog sins. Those don't sound too bad anyway. I think there's a difference between adding some color and creativity to an animal and going all-out crazy with the glitter and bling.

I have another blog too that I use less (it's mostly for me writing personal shit), and for some reason that one gets followers out the ass when I don't post anything. None of them ever talk to me though. xD
I'm actually pretty good at human when I want to be. I have my style pretty much set and all that it's just that I have more fun drawing anthro faces since that's kind of the best of both worlds, animal features, extra expressive like humans.
Middle school was the worst time definitely. Everyone there was such a stupid jerkface. High school was bad too, but by then I already already taught people to fear me. They legitimately thought I was a werewolf. It was awesome. >3
I honestly like well-designed unnatural characters sometimes, especially if they uses color schemes I really like. xD I'm actually thinking of making a meme about how to design a decent colorful character to 1) teach people with no sense of color how to design a character that's colorful and unique but pleasant to the eye and 2) teach people that are asshurt about anyone who ever uses unnatural colors that sometimes it's okay to experiment.
