The Spilled Milk Wish
When your girlfriends decide to throw you a birthday you don’t really say anything about it regardless of how old you are. Still at twenty five Brittany believed she was too old for birthday parties. Still her apartment was filled with people. Only half of which she knew well enough to know their name.
Her friends of course used the excuse of her moving out of their shared little apartment and into this new posh apartment as the reason to have the party. Brittany suspected that it had more to do with the idea that they could throw a bigger party. Still she was the guest of honor and so her friends fussed and made over her every chance they got.
She couldn’t beleive that had even gotten her a cake. She hadn’t had a real birthday cake since she turned sweet sixteen. She really didn’t like everyone making a huge fuss over her like this any way, and she really wasn’t a huge fan of having all the people in her new apartment.
She knew someone would drink too muc

Brittany awoke in her bed. Her chest was unbelievably sore. Almost as if it had been stretched beyond measure and then snapped back into place by force. She tried to sit up quickly and almost fainted from the pain.
“Easy there Britt” She heard coming from the corner of her room.
Brittany now knew she wasn’t alone and a little fear rippled through her mind as she struggled to sit up. “Who’s there” she asked hoping whoever it was would be nice enough to answer her. She couldn’t understand why her room was so dark, or why she couldn’t sit up.
“Just be easy Britt, it me Raven. You have had a really rough few days.”
Oh shit I’ve been out cold for days. Her mind started racing but it was mostly just spinning it’s wheels since she couldn’t remember anything since her birthday party. The Party was on Friday. What day is it?

The Journal of Elizabeth Sorrells:Who Needs Heroes
Honestly I never got into this for any sort of publicity but strangely enough it sort of comes with the territory. I just wanted to help people where I could and maybe make my little corner of the world a little better.
Yet once I was out in the open as a costumed hero the world couldn’t seem to get enough of me. I was a comic book hero come to life. I was a savior, a shining ray of hope for mankind in the darkness.
That was a massive amount of responsibility though. It was a big job. A much bigger job than one person even a superhuman person could handle. Plus I didn’t really ask for all that responsibility.
Sadly though the cat was out of the bag, the genie out of the bottle, the bullet fired from the gun. Pick a damn cliche and I fit it. For better or worse I was the only superhuman the world had and so I tried to live up to the hype.
And I failed miserably.

The Journal of Elizabeth Sorrells: History Lessons
I’ve been officially heroing for around a decade and a half. Unofficially I’ve been at it a bit longer than that. I’ve been interviewed more times than I like to count. I’ve had people sticking their nose in my alter ego’s business for most of that time. The main problem is that I’m a fiercely private person. Of course I’ve got plenty to try and keep under cover. My true identity is only the tip of the iceberg.
A lot of reporters think the way to cracking the code of who I really am lies in my age. So whenever I’m asked when I was born, and I say the 80’s they have a hard time believing im in my thirties. I smile but I don’t ever correct them. Why even bother trying to explain? It is just one more secret that I get to carry around with me all the time. Secrets that only grow with each passing year. Maybe one day I’ll let someone read this journal. Maybe, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
