an APIC, as opposed to a PIC, allows more interupt requests (IRQs).
Benefits: Imaging using an old PIC, which only allows about 15 IRQs, you'll end up sharing atleast 5-6 of those IRQ's, well, that's going to cause system "lag", as two devices want to talk on the same interupt.. an APID, introduces about 24 IRQs, so the sharing is at a minimal, and it allows a computer the run lag-less most of the time..

IRQ1 is reserved for internal devices (meaning, built right onto the motherboard), but not all.. It's there just to give you more free IRQs.. The internal devices that do share an IRQ are sharing, because they, literally, don't talk much..

I see. Thanks. btw. I formatted my computer 3 days ago and re-installed windows. I installed my usual drivers and software, like my printer stuff, office 2003, Photoshop CS2, iTunes etc. After I did that my computer just crashed. I restarted it, it did the same thing so I restarted it again. Nothing happens. So, I swithed it off and waited for the next morning. The next morning my computer was working smoothly. Do you know what might have caused the "big crash"?

if it's the new iTunes, there seems to be a big bug with the new iTunes, and how it works with the graphics card (it ties in directly for the new CoverFlow feature)...

aww thats cool.. i actually havent seen it really ive seen a part of it but not more than 20 or 30 minutes because i had just watched IT another amazing moive that made me hate clowns..... anyway i can do other things with the picture if youd like... im currently redrawing a picture for someone and i can spend time to do that for the shining picture
