Oh, yes, dA seems to be indefinitely exenstible. I have even noticed that it was quite the dragon nursery... Your little ones will find plenty of friends to play with...

Even more than you'd think. If you search 'Dragon', you'll find enough to populate a small town...

And multiplying so fast.... a mushroom town.
I have been watching your latest fractals.... and once again they led me to wonder if, to you, those three excellent artistic principles by which you do your watercolors - avoid central positioning of the main subject, avoid symmetrical and geometrical shapes, don't apply to fractals... And if that is the case, why...

YarNor In reply to eunecte [2008-09-19 01:16:57 +0000 UTC]

I apply them when the fractal structure allows it without distroying the interest the fractal held initially.

I'm just like everybody... don't spend enough time commenting and faving. Not fair, but I do tend to fall asleep my nose on the keyboard more often than I'd like too. Holidays?... Let's see, do you think you'd call one full August in Paris, with close to all the shops and activities closed, barely anyone but the tourists who didn't have the means to go to Beijin, and those Parisians who're watching the Games on TV. Paris is a sleeping beauty in August, and I feel like sleeping with her. Hope you're having more healthy summer days...
The s are the bare, lazy minimum. I'll try to do better. Have fun!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

midnightstouch In reply to eunecte [2008-08-14 05:09:20 +0000 UTC]

I can relate to falling asleep at the keyboard! Well, I suppose a sleeping beauty might be better than no beauty at all! Summer here, has been unusually cool. The plus to that is, it's more comfortable for outdoor activities. However, it's also far more hospitable to mosquitos which makes it uncomfortable for outdoor activities. Sometimes, there's just no winning. Just as well I suppose, since most of my focus should be on finding a fabulous new job.

As for the favs, bare, lazy or minimum, they are still greatly appreciated!

Three whole weeks away from dA and you feel like all your replies are outdated and out of place.... not to mention the nasty guilty feeling that you've been letting people down.... Talking mosquitoes today is probably pointless... I thought they liked it as damp and hot as possible.... - it must depend on the species. More pertinent: was August favorable to your fab new job hunt? Hope you had time for some of those healthy outdoors activities - carpe Diem, and all that sort of things. i am sure a fav is good for the self esteem, but a well thought-out comment, on top of giving matter for thought, is proof of a more personalized interest. - although there are, I admit, those pieces you like but don't have much to say about... Then, faving, I suppose, will have to do....
The sleeping Beauty has awakened this week. She's slowly turning back into the shrew she usually is (I am speaking of Paris, of course. Beautiful under certain lightings, but smelly and with a fishwife's voice.
You'll tell me, won't you, when you've found your dream job?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

midnightstouch In reply to eunecte [2008-09-03 05:41:19 +0000 UTC]

You never have to worry about feeling guilty with me. I'm happy to see you no matter how long the absence.
As for mosquitoes, well it's been very damp and still fairly warm so they're thriving for the time being My job hunt is not faring as well as I'd hoped. I'd assumed, apparently wrongly, that my previous experience combined with excelling at my new skills would make the task a simple one. Unfortunately, age seems to be a bigger negative factor than I'd expected. I'm keeping positive though, and encouraging myself by repeating "the right thing will come along".

I LOVE your description of Paris!!

I will most certainly let you know when I find the dream job I'm looking forward to being ecstatic about it

I hope that life is treating you well!

eunecte In reply to midnightstouch [2008-09-07 13:48:08 +0000 UTC]

The right thing HAD BETTER come along! Talent and experience should be a plus, and not only in politicians' speeches - but most of all in the corporate world. We got the same problem on this side of the Atlantic: at 45 you're regarded suspiciously, at 55 you're considered a worthless investment. And yet you keep being encouraged (or forced) to work beyong the legal retirement age - hypocrisy knows no frontiers...
Yep, Paris has turned back to its usual schyzophrenic self. A VERY seductive old tart who belches and farts and treats you like scum.
Waiting impatiently to have news of your new dream job. I believe in you!
Life seems to have forgotten me by the roadside. I do hope it remains that way. We've never been friends, And I can do for a time without its sadism. I've finally given in, and am seeing a psychastrist. Hope it helps for the depression.
Don't give up, and I'll be there to rejoice with you!

Well my dear, I'm happy to say that as of Monday, I will once again enter the workaday world. Not ecstatic mind you, but happy. I took a job offer today. I'll be a production assistant with a clothing company here called Mondetta. The pay is 5K a year more than my previous position, along with a good benefits package. The drawback is that there is little to no room for growth.

With bills beginning to leer rather menacingly at me from around the corner, I thought it best that I accept the job, keeping in mind that I can be earning an income and still looking for a better opportunity

Forgotten by the wayside is a slightly better option than lying beaten and bruised along side it. However, I do hope more for you. I've done more than my fare share of dancing with the specter of depression, so I wish you a swift escape from the deep dark tunnel!

Sorry for the late answer. Internet access problems.... solved, hopefully. I knew it!glad, glad, so glad you at least won't have to worry about bills anymore. A good stepping stone to go on looking for THE job in a more serene state of mind.
As for me.... The trouble is that I think depression has becone somewhat natural to me.... you might call it deep-seated disillusion about pretty much everything... myself included. Life, then, becomes pointless. I'm still trying, though. And rejoicing with you, as I promised.
Agnes
