Im in need of advice through this WACKY medium. Wanting to teach English in Taiwan wit me gf. Seems difficult to secure anything online. how did you do it? how did you crack the egg. another problem is, to get in without a job we need visitor visa, which mean need to book a flight back so will have to change at great expense and all that.

Hey dude. There are a number of options for finding and securing a job in Taiwan. I got a bit lucky in that I found a job online before arriving-and the job wasn't complete shit.
Now if you are on a budget-then finding a job before arrival is a little more desired. If you've got some wiggle room then you can get a 60 day visitor visa and and work on getting a job after you arrive. Either way, you should be sending applications out to schools. If you come without a job-make sure you have a few interviews lined up so you can visit the schools and make sure they aren't a scam or complete piece of crap. Shop around-do your research.
esl99 is a pretty decent site for jobs. Search for it in google. Research about teaching english in taiwan and what it entails. Things to expect-amount of money to spend-etc etc...

bought flights and catch the big feathery bird on 27th of april. sickeningly wild concept currently as all is sheltered and comfortable at home. but reality needs to be battered often. haha nutty. eh yeh going to wiggle with jobbies as nothing on the net is coming up with good shit. pretty dismal in many ways. i have optimism that being there will aid this search for a crack in the wall of employmentablepsychosis. if your aware of any such thingmees let me know. if you can. but no weights. expect frantic messages as the days tick into distant time and my psycho not ikill explorations have to come to an end.

ready no and really coming yes. kind of really chaotic.aware of a definite possibility of failure, however not looking at that. being uk citdog means we got a 90 day visa. so hope to goodness thats time enough. seems like many days really. all net advertisements seem to be automated almost. but continuing to send mails out. but yeh so have until the 20th of july, hopefully we can find something by that time. lunacy and fear are prevalent. yikes and all that indeed

Yeh mad ideas anyways, time to get out of current realities though. all going well in a few months maybe we can blast an exhib up. however many roads wind into the sky right now but i hope purpose presents itself soon!

Yes, Taiwan has been very good to me. I've had a great time out here, made a good living for myself and I have lots of time outside of teaching to work on hobbies. I have been much more prolific out here and the work has gotten much better. Not to include that I have picked up new skills [screen printing, stencil graffiti, pure abstracts, new drawing skills, etc]. Basically teaching myself new things in the large amount of off time that I have.
The only thing missing is a true art scene out here. It's literally and figuratively, being on an island.

I absolutely love teaching my 8-10 year olds. They fill my days with emotion.
I find that children experience a wider range of emotions than adults. Both their anger and joy fill me with life.

I need to put up more! because i have pretty much abandoned cardboard.. not completely yet, because its a good cheap practice surface and it states a great point about america's current state of economy. But i do intact need to get more of my work done on canvas up as well as some of my installations/murals! OH AND PS. Your work is by far one of my favorites that i have come across within this entire network. II will be watching you in the near future to see what kind of great work you will produce next!
