Most of my work is in Garry's Mod, a Half-Life 2 mod. The format the models are in i'm not sure what exactly, but they are re-purposed for work on the Source Physics engine

You can export the models of characters, weapons, vehicles from any game you can think of, with a few exceptions. This is officially know as Porting. To export it to anything other than Gmod or the Source Engine, I'm not sure how if it's possible. Mind you, I'm the last guy to ask on this.
