A few moments of small talk passed before Thomas spoke up. "Okay, I have to know. What's up with Igor?" The fact Igor didn't have a hunch had been bothering him all night.

the young werewolf smiled. a few of the people congratulated him, and then the couple as a total on their marriage.
python smiled but said nothing. "do you like your dinner?" she asked vlad timidly. the girl didnt remember what his favorite foods were and had just taken a guess.

Vlad nodded. "Yes." He said, smiling at the conversation the others were having. While it wasn't his favorite it came a close third and the girl was a very good cook. Why had she never made anything before?

Vlad's eyes widened and he had to fight back the blush he knew he was getting, as he was eating. She probably didn't mean what he thought she did but it was still unexpected. Sam heard this and started laughing, leaving the others to wonder what on earth was amusing over marriage.
(Got Hotel Transylvania yesterday and I love, just LOVE, the alternate opening and wish they'd put that scene somewhere else in the movie

vlad unwrapped the package to find a small but beautiful book-sized painting. pictured was a lone gondolier and its pilot, paddling through venice. "its an original monet Ive had for a while." he smiled. paitings by monet were extremely rare.

Jems tried to catch it but Mocha leapt up and caught it in his mouth before throwing one of his berries to Sonya. Jems dropped a berry on Mocha's head teasingly.

Vlad was surprised. "Thomas, you didn't tell me you met Monet." He said with a smile. (I know next to nothing about paintings XD) Everyone else decided now was as good a time as any to give Vlad his gifts.

"Well, I did." Thomas chuckled. He had also been friends with Bach and, to a lesser extent, sallieri (both composers, both oddly like him XD)
Vlad received swim boxers from Larry. They had blue-and-black bat print on them. He chuckled. "You need to learn to use those."
The Frankensteins gave him a gift card to the mad scientist emporium, home to all the potions and heavy grade stitches he would ever need (XD) It was, he guessed, a hint to go out and be prepared in case they ever needed repairs.
The mummy gave him an old vase from Egypt with a picture of Isis on it. "One of the many things I recovered." He promised.
Finally griffon and JJ offered him a set on sunglasses and a new watch. After everyone was done, the only things missing were Igor's and Sam's gifts

Sam had decided he'd wait till everyone went home before giving Vlad his gift. He'd decided on this earlier that night because before then he couldn't think of anything to give him (just like me XD)

after everyone was gone and igor had given vlad the special bottle of 1945 Mrs. Universe's blood (just made it up XD fancy blood) python let sam give him his gift first. jenny had a card for her papa, though it went with only a scratchy black mark for a signature.

Jems frowned. "Oops?" She shrugged. Neither of them had noticed the grovyle picking berries off trees and the undamaged ones off the ground while the fight was going on. Sure he wanted to join in but he also really liked Sonya's cooking.

the girl smiled. she shut the door after setting jenniffer to bed and entering vlad's very empty feeling room. she walked over to the cage suspended from the ceiling and pulled away the cover. "happy birthday." she smiled at the small pair of birds.

For a moment Vlad was speachless and then, impulsively he hugged the girl. A moment passed before Vlad pulled away. "I'm sorry." He said, awkwardly.

"well," the girl shrugged. "jenny picked them. they both seemed really lonely." she examined the male bird, small, blue, and tentative but demanding. the female pecked at the rail, seeming much happier than she had. they both did.

Jems came in - and promprly covered her face. "Mom, dad, really?" It seems she'd just woken up. Mocha meanwhile was still asleep.

Vlad frowned in worry. What happened? With a sigh he wondered if she felt it but decided she didnt. He was just convincing himself there was something there, that was it... Wasn;t it? He dissapeared into the room to watch the birds.
