hey, i have a question- from one yu yu fan to another. Does hiei grow? I hiei is 4 feet 10 inches at one point.

He's 4'10 in the Dark Tournament, but at the end of the series an artbook puts him at 5'3 (Yusuke and the others all got taller, too). His height isn't ever mentioned in the anime or manga aside from the DT reference. Hope I helped!

Details such as: Kurama's/Yusuke's life expectancy (you know they're probably pretty warped, especially Kurama's), Hiei's age, way too many relationship questions to count, whatever happened to Bui?! (although I'm probably he only one who cares), and THEN there are all the discrepancies between anime and manga canon that only make muddling out the truth even more difficult... especially with Yukina. Manga-canon says she'll die if she has kids, but the anime makes no mention of this and changes Hina's death to a suicide. Togashi did say, however, that the only canon he considers real is the manga's, and that he had very little to do with the anime and therefore he regards it as a separate entity in and of itself...

Nah, it's cool. I totally understand. I remember staying up to 4 in the morning to see the last episode of yu yu hakusho. I was highly disappointed. There were so many loose ends it wasn't even funny.
Yeah Kurama is going to have to tell him mother sometime that he is a demon cause he isn't going to age as fast. Yusuke the same way. Another thing, Hiei never told Yukina. That aggravated me greatly.
And DON'T get me started on Hiei's age...I hate it when fangirls are like, "He lived for 500 years fighting blah blah blah blah..." He's NOT THAT old. He has to be a teenager or young adult...
I didn't know Yukina would die if she had kids..Were was that in the manga? I must have missed it.

Yeah Kurama would have to tell his mom sometime cause he wouldn't age as fast and would live longer. Same with Yusuke. I hate how Hiei doesn't tell Yukina that he was his brother. In the manga it's mentioned that Hina died in childbirth, and that Koorime who have sex with men usually die in childbirth. I need to reread the chapters; they're during Hiei's flashbacks while he's imprisoned with Mukuro.
Hiei can't be over 100 years old! It says that Koorime have a kid every 100 years, and since Yukina is childless (I mean, they would have mentioned it, right?) it stands to reason Hiei is under 100. Plus, the Koorime are all tall, mature-looking women, and Yukina is clearly younger than them. She's not an adult yet! I wish Togashi had been more specific. -_-;

I know! So frustrating. Yeah,now that you say that about Hina being dead and all...i remember where it said that. (I was like "DUH!") I felt Togashi just did the show for the fighting scenes...i feel there is no depth in relationships as well, i.e. mukuro and hiei. What is their relationship? Speaking of which i like mukuro in the manga better then in the anime.
Another thing a lot of people think kurama and hiei are lover....I doubt that.

In an interview, Togashi said that his original plan was for Hiei and Kurama to be lovers, but that he scrapped the idea when he decided to aim YYH at the shonen market (the yaoi probably wouldn't have gone over well). So, HxK is NOT canon, but it could have been. It's no wonder the fangirls picked up on it; small moments of Togashi's old plan occasionally slip through the cracks.
