Two images very deserving. The depth aspect of the images is what I would like to achieve.

Thx! To tell you the truth, the depth stuff I wasn't really trying for, it just kinda worked out. I was more focused on lighting and the shadows.

Is a damn fine addiction. Two years in the making.Funny, once only surfed the web, never artistically inclined, didn't even know what Poser,Photoshop were.NOw look, transformed into artist(sort of).Itching to know how to get more realism though.Maybe a tut from someone more talented than me???

got yer note and yer now officially a member of

thank you for all the comments agen *s* And okay, maybe Poser itself isn't addicting, but what ya can do with it..if it lets you

poseraddicts In reply to brokenangel [2004-01-07 11:39:20 +0000 UTC]

No, Poser's addicting, the outcome of the addiction is the drug

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

brokenangel In reply to poseraddicts [2004-01-07 14:39:45 +0000 UTC]

I thought it was the way to the outcome that was the drug...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

poseraddicts In reply to brokenangel [2004-01-07 18:56:37 +0000 UTC]

Yea, of course, once you see the drug you go back to the addiction to create more of the drug to fuel the addiction further...

It's like which came first, the chicken or the egg

nightmareangel07 In reply to spawn2002 [2004-01-12 16:45:17 +0000 UTC]

Actually, realism comes more from textures used than the models. I've done some wicked shit with Posette on a realism level (eventhough I hate her with a passion compared to V3) But, aye, a lot of it is models, posing, lighting...

Serpentis agrees for the most part with brokenangel....but not completely! Because even with the pure basics, amazing stuff can be achieved in the right hands.

Seriously, the best inspiration is looking at art, any kind of art. I look at a photograph and go "gee, I wonder if I can do *THAT* in Poser" and then run off and do my best to achieve a similar feeling. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails miserably LOL Then I try again.

brokenangel In reply to spawn2002 [2004-01-11 14:47:33 +0000 UTC]

It's inspiration, I think. Surfing around, seeing stuff one likes, and trying to achieve that *nodnod*
As for realism, with Poser I think (and Serpentis will correct me if I'm deadly wrong here) you're dependant fromn the models provided for it, but even then you as the artist have a hand in making a scene better than the predecessor. Lighting, textures, posing, props, the works *L*

Hope you had a great xmas, and will have a Happy new year, too *s*

As for a graphics tablet, I -do- own one (no wacom, though, can't afford that *L*), but to be honest I haven't used it much. I have to get the hang of it yet *L* For tute's, maybe try out Renderosity's tutorial section, [link] renderosity.com , they have fairly good one.
