I have the book with me. Now Ii I can ever settle down to read it. If it bad, that I feel bad for Frollo, even though I think him a.. well... a cad really.(for lack of a better word.) I guess he is not meant to be evil or good, but chaotic.

I haven't even seen the Disney version... lol but from what i know of the story, he was power-hungry and corrupt. I really should at least see the Disney version... but i love so much to read the original books first.

I like watching all the movies so later on I wont be disappointed in them after reading the books... but I feel bad for Frollo, because he was once so sure on life, but then he fell in love. His world was torn apart. He was an old man, looking back on a waisted life. But yes, he was corrupt and power hungry; but isn't that the darker side of our human nature? Power, desire, greed? Always lusting after what we don't have?

I suppose so. It's always sad when a person decides to waste his life. I hadn't heard that about Frollo. It's interesting, to say the least.

So what kinds of books do you like, other than stories about masked Operaghosts and deformed bellringers? I'm a big gothic romance buff, myself. Well..... actually, anything that's classic and romance or sci-fi or horror or a combination of any two of those. So, H.G. Wells, Dracula, Frankenstein... and some lighthearted stuff, too, like The Scarlet Pimpernel. That's one of my favorites right now, have you read it?

I can't stand modern anything, though.... I'm just not into most modern authors

I don't read a lot, but i'm trying too read more; but I like fiction. The more time I spend with Erik, the more Gothic I get inside; and Now that Ive gotten a better look under the mask, I really can't go back! I need more books! Though For awhile I did like the Warriors books by Erin Hunter. I thought about reading fan stories, but I'm too scared too. I also like biographies about serial killers. So I guess I like things gritty and spooky. I want to look into more Edgar Allen Poe.

Haha, Edgar Allen Poe.... you never hear about it, but that man had a WONDERFUL sense of humor. Just read his story about the man who went to the moon in a hot-air balloon. What a riot!

H.G. Wells is also a wonderful horror author, although most of his stuff isn't terribly "spooky" it is pretty gritty.... most of it is pretty steampunk-esque.

I'd be happy to recommend some books, if you want. I've read a lot. I've always been a big reader, ever since i was three.

At three I was more interested in tv... I guess thats why my imagination was poo until I hit my preteens. That is when I started going online! XD Yeah, you can suggest books. Right now i'm trying to go through older books first. I can tell he had humor, even in his dark stores. Like the tell tale heart; but maybe I just have a dark sense of humor.

I would definitely recommend anything by H.G. Wells, and also Jules Verne, even though he's not as fast-paced as wells they're good books well worth the read. Oscar Wild has some good short stories, i would get used to him before reading The Picture Of Dorian Grey, because it's his darkest work and can be very depressing. The Canterville Ghost is my favorite of his works.

Also, The Lord of the Rings. It's a really amazing book, the kind everyone should read one in their lifetime. If you haven't read it, you definitely should. The movies are no substitute.
