Making space art in C4D? I found these!

If you want to keep the maps you make, I recommend either baking the texture or remembering the seed number.

Cool.

I always keep my maps apart, for the sake of it.
Although I do not feel that baking a software is going to do much good...

Alright, give me a some time, I might not get a chance today.

And after this one I might post the one I did with my four characters.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-23 01:11:51 +0000 UTC]

Four characters meme? I've been looking for one like that to use with the Four Vixens.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-23 04:11:25 +0000 UTC]

Would you rather wait few days so I can post yours tomorrow and let it stay for a few days, or should I inverse order?
Mine features my main four characters (There are many others, but these are the top four)
Rune, of course.
AMI, RGT's scientist and GLaDOS expy. (Not so homicidal and more trolling)
Rahnor, Rune's guardian with a HUGE crush on him.
Telos, farm boy that got taken from Earth as a representative from Earth in 2012 by the most advanced race in the Virgo Cluster, thus making him older than Rune himself. XD

Also, since none of my characters mean nothing for anyone as my few stories do not portray them, I am planning on making the first short story featuring Rune soon. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-23 21:31:59 +0000 UTC]

I'll wait till you post first. Mine'll be:
Mai: The warm-hearted... skank... of a queen and Mao Zedong's expy.
Ea: The person who, like all ghosts, holds an eternal grudge/goal. A very dark one.
Mauna Loa: The sado-masochist with a short temper and a very slim shred of soul left.
Camilla: The sickly shamaness who only does things when she's told.

AMI is a scientist and, I presume, a computer as well? Never thought of that actually.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-23 22:16:14 +0000 UTC]

Just posted yours. Will post mine in in two days.
Mind you, just so you know, it is the normal meme like the one I just did, but it suggests to use more than one character, you simply add some dialogue between them to give a peek at their personalities, but that is only if you wish.

Yes, AMI (Artificial Mother Intelligence) is like GLaDOS, was made as a research computer that could learn from stuff, until it got sentient, but the scientists refused to stop treating her as an object without feelings, so she ended up killing them. Her creator is Ea Von Newmann (Yes, I needed a German name, and I just liked Ea. She is just mentioned either way, no planned appearance. )
She is not so cynical though (most of the time) she just likes to troll people)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-25 08:44:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh, kay.

Ea? Did you just...? Need to find a German name? Go here. [link] It randomly gives you a name of particular origin, and when it does just keep refreshing until you find one you like.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-25 10:49:00 +0000 UTC]

I did, and all I found were not as nice sounding.
Again, most my Ea will ever achieve is a short story about AMI's creation, and that is not planned. We can also say I made it out of EA Games. XD

Just to be sure, that name IS actually german? Or you made it up? Because Ea would be from this time, so I cannot use the excuse of names changing in the next centuries.,

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-26 08:07:48 +0000 UTC]

Ea's name is actually Scandinavian. I'm trying to follow the Master race of Nordic people in Nazi-Marcionist beliefs, as well as the Nordic beings so told in alien abduction stories. But her last name Baumhauer is German.

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-19 20:40:14 +0000 UTC]

That took me to Mexico. Are you sure? Google Earth isn't good at reading coordinates, so you might wanna give me relative location, like street names and cities.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-19 21:05:09 +0000 UTC]

What? I tested them, and it got me to my house...
Streets... the problem with that, is that since my city is nested between mountains (and on them) only a small fraction of it actually works under the grid system, everything else is twisted mess...

HOW CAN IT READ THEM WRONG!? There is only one freaking place on Earth where that coordinates are! And Mexico! That thing is SO NOT latitude 10! That is 30 at best!
Okay... Let's see...
Let's try this out another way... slowly now.
Place this is the search bar 'caracas, los naranjos, avenida principal'
It SHOULD take you to said area of the city, to me it makes me fly past, but just go to the red marker that appears, the auto pilot is stupid.
Now you should be in a maeker right in the middle of a street, with a relatively big building just to the upper right that looks like a pair of wings (like this: \--/ but more tilted), that would be our mall. (I am working under the assumption that you have the north pointing up, like default before the auto screws it)
Okay, if you have reached this part, then we are great, to the left, following that street, there are three buildings that look similar (to the left of the houses with red roofs).
Now, the rightmost is mine, the middle one has a pic of it, which works fine for knowing how my building looks like.

If this fails, I have no idea how to show it to you, unless Google Earth allows me to share places or something...

Also, I just tested the coordinates on Google Maps too, the main one at that, in case the latin one has different stuff (Like how the WEST coordinate is OESTE, ehich can screw the search) and it also took me straight home.)
Double check it is this: 10°26'18.27"N 66°50'19.71"W just paste that completely in the search bar, it worked for me.
God this is harder than expected. XD

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-19 21:24:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh no, I fixed it. Had to delete that apostrophe in front of the 10.

Let's see... You live in one of these three buildings, no? You live on top of a hill almost completely isolated from any major city. Divided lots of pretty hil- DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE TOWN IS MERGED WITH ANY BIGGER ONE. You live on a hill! A quiet hill! Like a Teletubbie! You Teletubbie! XD

Here's mine. 29°34'15.71" N, 98°17'59.58" W . There's a big creek that acts like a moat here, filtering sad things from San Antonio out of here.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-19 22:44:32 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see.
...
How the hell did Google Earth read that as +20 in latitude? XD

Yes, the right one, identical to that in the picture (in said pic, to the left, you can see a black ramp/wall, that is the base of mine.)
It may look separated, but it far from it, we have the city in all directions. Not all of the city is tall crammed buildings you know? Half of that 'hill' is 60 degrees slopes.
THIS is the view from near my house, all in which we could build is now built on, the rest is unstable mountain (Which can and DOES collapse, just the other day it did, two streets down from me, the whole area is being evacuated because it became unstable.)
[link]
The city may look far from my place, but that is just an illusion made by the next mountain in front. That long red building in the lower right? right the base of the mountain which I am on. (It looks quite flatter than it really is in that pic, I can't believe you actually consider Google Earth a precise heightmap, maybe up there it is, but here they don't care. Only the basic structure is seen)
Also, check what I found while searching for that pic, a shot of the city from the air and to the side (and with some odd lens) which gives a great view of where the fuck we are compared to the sea. XD
[link]
(The bright patch by the sea to the left is where the airport/seaport I mentioned you is)

That river does look like a wall between you, but I spot a bridge just a bit up. XD
Also, while looking at the place, the saying 'the grass is always greener on the other side' ... of the river in this case. Your side does look brown.
I love watching USA areas in GE, everything is so neatly made, looks like Simcity. XD
Specially Miami, with all residential areas being square, it looks like a patchwork quilt from above.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-20 00:36:19 +0000 UTC]

Mudslides maybe? Or just simple collapsing because it felt like it?

On the map, I saw how close you were to the sea. And right behind the shore, it looks like its filled with jungle and hills. Must be nice to catch a cool higher breeze.

That highway, I-35 is pretty much the only thing linking SA from us. But it's an interstate, going into Schertz (the bigger moon city I live next to) and eventually Austin. This particular year, It's been so dry until recently that the whole river dried up. It's brown on this side because it's still a fairly new residential area surrounded by farms.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-20 05:52:52 +0000 UTC]

Mudslides mostly, in the tropics, the idea of four seasons in non existent, here we have Dry and Rains. That's it, half of the year that big mountain, that happens to be a national park (The one in the pic) that separates us from the sea (Aside from a kilometer in the z axis. XD) burns like hell, so do the other mountains.
The other half, they slide down.
A few years ago, the other side of it, the one looking towards the sea, went down completely, a disaster big enough to warrant a special show in Discovery Channel. There IS a reason why the natives here did not settle that area... the whole range traps way too much rainfall, and we cut too much trees. Worst part? It was right in an elections day, so our idiot leader refuses to evacuate despite warnings of scientists. The result is that that state is still recovering, over 8 years since. (Even worse, that state is pro government. O.o)

It is much more mountainous than it looks, the jungle is the south part of the country. We simply have the whole thing green, we do have a few deserts, but not that big.
Sea brezzes do not reach us due to the mentioned mountain range, the capital is precisely known for having a temperate climate all year round, but it certainly not sea like.

It does look like a recent development project, with the big crater besides your house. (You are constantly complaining your plants have not enough water, yet I see your neighbor has a pool, WTF.)
Also, yeah, accidentally hit the past time feature, saw the earliest images of the area (In black and white to boot) from like 95, farms.

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-22 05:50:09 +0000 UTC]

I see you're not that far from Brazil. Or the Amazon. Got any like wildlife there?

It's a fake pool. Here, droughts may be a problem, but there will always be running water in the systems. Their pool you see there is filled with a hose. XD I hate those neighbors. They keep their dogs outside in the heat 24/7 and rev the engine in their two-door 1987 Honda Accord. The fun part is that we live near so many farms. So every evening, we hear peacocks. Every morning we hear roosters. And occasionally a cow or a donkey in between. But it's otherwise quiet. It constantly smells of flowers. And rich people are generally nicer. Unlike... ghetto San Antonio.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-22 17:33:50 +0000 UTC]

Not far compared to you, but the Amazon is half country away, across the plains, we do have some wildlife in these mountains, but nothing like a jungle.

You mean these ones? [link]
Those look pretty cool.

Rich people are nicer? It is generally backwards here, once a woman that cleaned our house, one of those that stay overnight, had her daughter here too, that girl was a saint.
Normally richer people spoil them so badly that they end up being horrible kids.
Mind you, that is not a rule, there are many exceptions.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-22 18:38:02 +0000 UTC]

In that scale, I use the distance from here to Los Angeles as a reference and call it short. Besides, I see everything in a cosmic scale, so everything's short.
Do you deal with mosquitoes or large cats? Or is it too urban for the cats to get big?

Eh... kinda. It's like that without the supports on it. It's floppy. Not inflatable, but floppy.

Rich people are nice to an extent. Their niceness goes back down If they're too rich. Where I live is a Goldilocks zone of people. Poor people are often threatening. Rich people are often arrogant. I live in the... Military/veterans kind of neighborhood where everyone can actually afford a two-story house and children. They're the nicest people. I also live pretty close to a Church, and churchgoers are usually pretty nice (until you mention non-holy things).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-23 04:47:33 +0000 UTC]

We are not using AU to measure this distance.
Sure it is near... compared to China. But in reality it is a +12 hour trip by car to reach.
Mosquitoes are mostly in the main city area, which is the valley proper, we are at 500 meters over the city itself, and then I live in a 15th floor, so we do not get them HERE, but the city has them in spades.
Big cats? In the jungle and a few in the mountains, but never a problem, we have ocelots! Although we call them differently (Venezuela is nuts, many things have different names from other Spanish countries, even if everyone else agreed in a name, we go our own way...)

Without the supports... wouldn't it fold in or out? Like those little pools we were placed in when we were less than a year old?

Again, this is not a rule, many poor people are threating indeed, but many others are simply honest people that just do not have economical means to survive without asking for money. (It is so much of a competitive work, asking for money in streets, that they have stopped simply asking, now it is more of a talent show, in one corner you see someone using sticks in fire, others use rings, etc, right of a cool circus. It is pretty neat, and makes people feel more happy to give them money.)

DCkiq In reply to RuneTrantor [2012-07-23 20:29:28 +0000 UTC]

I live in Tornado Alley (ironically). In other words, our flat plains have nothing that can obstruct a tornadic thunderstorm. So all I see is nothing but farm and may several hills in the horizon. A 12+ hour drive will only take us across Texas. I think it's roughly the size of Venezuela. Where I am, it would take just about as long to reach Mexico because of how the roads are set up here.

It can hold itself up as long as there aren't several people resting on one side. They're the cheapest pools, besides kiddy pools.

Particularly here in America, Hispanic and Blacks are encouraged to think that their stereotype is the norm. So they never try (hence, they're relatively poor) and use said stereotype to their advantage to be threatening. Here in America, preexisting subcultures play a big part in who's who.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-23 22:34:16 +0000 UTC]

No, I did once though Venezuela was the size of one of the larger states, but we are still a bit bigger.
Texas is 696,241 km2, while Venezuela is 916,445 km2, it really depends on how the place is shaped, like Chile, it is thin as a hair, but a trip from one side to the other is half a continent away.
12 hours is from the capital (Roughly at the center of the country in west-east sense, and on the northernmost part, while said city I quoted as that far is simply the capital of the largest state, which is in the lower part of the country, but not even close to the border.

Okay.

Making them adopt the stereotypes is a terrible idea, even if you do not count how racist that is, most of your stereotypes are us being drug dealers and thieves, so it would be in your interests not to promote that...

The community doesn't do anything. And can't because it's not illegal. It's pop culture that's influencing such behaviors.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneTrantor In reply to DCkiq [2012-07-25 10:54:40 +0000 UTC]

There really is no way to not be racist in the media if the viewer is over analyzing.
Let's make an example, a new show airs, with a latin dude included in the cast.
Option 1: The dude is black. Resulting in a possible reaction of 'Oh sure! Like there was no white people anywhere else than in your country!' (Most people here are neither white nor black, but kind of brown, in a tanned way, due to race mixing)
Option 2: Dude is white. 'O right, because you LOVE the idea of black people not existing!'
Option 3: Upon analyzing the previous ones, you simply scrap the character, which gets leaked and starts a war of it's own.
