yeh i've been playing for a long time its my first love.... I studied jazz for about 7 or 8 year and implemented a lot of the theory from jazz in the last band i played in which was a soul funk band... i love to play improvisational music

but now i'm working more into acoustic and blues

awesome i started with blues and rock as well its a good foundation to build on... take some time and learn your scales it will help you learn improve and i still to this day just turn on a cds or radio and try and play along find the key there playing in and put fills in or solo
