I searched for it. There is no Illisheim, but an Illesheim. Thats not a big difference and Wikipedia says that there are the US "Storck Barracks". So I guess it's this one between Frankfurt and Nürnberg. Hm.. let me see... "only" 400km far away so let's say at least 4 hours by car. Theres often much traffic around Frankfurt so let's say even a bit more.. But if you come around with the helicopter this is not a big distance I guess xD

I think we won't lose us here at dA.
I've actually never really went out to take photos, too. I'm usually only at events like show jumping or motocross or something. We just have to find something interesting to take pictures from. But Germany isn't that ugly so I'm sure we will.

Do you have much free time when you are in Germany? If you are interested in Airplanes, and so on (and I think you are, aren't you? xD) you have to visit the German Museum in Munich. There are some old military planes exposed and a rocket and space things, ...
And in Sinsheim there is the Technology Museum with lots of planes, old sports-cars,... And near your place there schould also be small museums with helis, tanks etc because of the old boarder....ahhh... there's so much and I talk to much xD ^^"

lol i dont mind at all and all of that sounds good
as far as freetime goes if im going to be traveling a far distance than it cant be verry often but if its not to fa away prolly almost every weekend

ich arbeite in nem fitnesstudio, ad ich vor medizin sport studiert hab und das auch beendet habe lol, und ja..das dauert ewig dahinzufahren, deswegen muss ich so früh aufstehen.
