lol of course that guy just reminded me of the lazy people in regards to a conversion from a digital game to table ...of course I only tend to only copy the important stuff over , my tabletop ports are found in the group i invited you to BTW. sometimes i just forget my own advice not everyone knows a topic you have to be clear with everything.

Yeah, I know. Sometimes I'm guilty of talking over everyone's head, so I tend to provide a lot fo explanation in my messages (and footnotes in my documents.)

That's exactly what I'm talking about. But then again, everybody gets misunderstood on occasion.
The D&D wiki I have is a collection of character options, special rulings, adventure description and recaps, and so on. What I'm talking about in 'documents' as 'anything that I written, be it a Word Document or a Post on my blog. I often add Footnotes as reminder text describing what I mean by such and such a term, if I think that anyone who's just seeing this blog wouldn't get the meaning.

Thanks, but I'm afraid that it won't be for much. The same mistakes I'm improving myself from is the same thing that would keep me from being hirable or dateable. People do use Google Search for a character search after all. There's no such thing as forgiveness in the tubes.

Regardless of what the internet made you infamous for (which after read those articles I really don't see nor care because you aren't doing anything wrong nor have you made a fool of yourself as far as I can tell) I can see that you have a good sense of knowledge on cartoons. I guess you can say i'm someone that wants to see people do better and offer encouragement because 4chan and ED have screwed over people that aren't truely beyond help like chris-chan. I tried talking to that guy but it's like talking to a brick wall.
But when you consider it, cartoons are relatively easy and fun to draw it's not something advanced like what Sakimichan or Reiq does but you seem very comfortable with that style and I wouldn't tell you to deviate from that but only to take real measures to improve because that is the difference between obscurity and money. I do think you are accomplishing your goals of creating stories and media but you haven't gone the extra mile which is the only thing i'd say your missing.
If you spend maybe just a few years really getting lineart with the pen tool perfected and looking up advanced coloring tutorials on youtube I guarentee you, you could turn a new leaf. Also if you do rough sketches and then zoom in to 2-300% and use a soft brush you can also see improvements in lineart there. I can offer some advice on how to improve which i've also told my ex gf, which would be to buy artbooks, in your case disney artbooks, or you can always torrent the pdfs of them. I remember a highschool buddy of mine's sister having a disney artbook of every character it was a kind of guide to understanding how to draw antropromorphic characters. Or you could study animated movies like Fido's adventure, the secret of nimh etc. All in all if you take a few more steps to branch out and willfully improve and find people to partner up with I don't see how you wouldn't have some success. All in all good luck to you and I'll consider watching you if you seriously need some examples or consider improvements.

Yeah, I know. At least when people talk to me like a normal human being, I actually listen.
Working on my style is something I strive to do, even if it just little anatomy hacks or how I draw the eyes and stuff like that.
The biggest regret I have from my education is not learning how to effictively learn the pen toll. I end up doing the Auto-Trace function in Draw Plus to save time, especially when I'm on a scedule and are looking for ways to speed up the process. But maybe with my art slowing down because of my DMing degree. I might have time to actually use the pen tool on some illustrations.
Like I said before, I'm using D&D to expand my social sphere and build a bigger audience to make my stories and artwork with. I'd like to take this time to do that extra mile, and I like to do that with my inking. Coloring might come later; I'd like to focus on one time at a time, autism being how it is.
Thank you for the good words and do feel free to follow me and keep in touch. I'll be happy to see some of your examples.

Well there are people like Tom Preston aka Andrew Dobson who literally are full of themselves. You seem a bit grounded which is good. It seems if Dobson spent even half as much time drawing as he did fighting people online he might be in a better position and would have more than the 147 dollars on patreon which he complained he's not getting more. Heck if I got even 120 bucks a month coupled with the job I have I would be extatic because it should be a driving point and those people could reciprocate and spread the word and get more people to back you. I'm not perfect either but I also know that what keeps me from being better is lack of motivation and laziness the key to being better is to admit the problem. Forcing yourself to do things may seem bad but it has benefits, sometimes you got to do that to get results.
Which is good to work on your style, never feel threatened to branch out and look towards other antro styles or heck even mix and match!
I played around with the pen tool two years ago and I found some helpful videos explaining the key shortcuts that made the pen tool much easier to handle. Now it's really easy for me. Also inkscape's pen tool is even more efficient and easier than photoshop's. With photoshop you have to learn how to use the anchors and the shortcut keys. If I can find those tutorials again I will link you to them. GiMP is another story but it all boils down to working with the program. Depending on the art, inking a character can take upwards to 1-2 hours but the more you get used to it the quicker you work.
Understandable I don't have autism so I can't relate to how you feel and cope with thing but I can tell you that there's always time to learn new things and grow the best feeling in the world is showing the world that something like lazyness, depression or in your case autism doesn't stop you from succeeding! I'll watch you just to see how things go, best of luck to you!

But I will say this, there are too many young teenage deviantart users that get antsy over dumb things, they give the admins headaches over there inability to deal with other people. Silencing others who clearly *aren't* harassing but commenting and reacting and replying to their critiques as well as these same teenagers who are commenting with actual trolls they drop the hammer on everyone which is completely unfair and utter ridiculous. The thing is, if you make controversy you are responsible with how you act if you don't want the hate stop acting in a manner which fuels the fire. People need to learn how to let it go and ignore things.

That's just it, with the SJWs, tumblr, youtube people are up in arms and their attitudes are extremely poor. I don't know if it can be remedied without censorship of the internet which ironically is exactly what the government wants to push. I want the net to be free for as long as possible but that's never going to happen if things keep going the way they are with swatting etc.

Yeah, Even if I had just $120 a month from a patreon, I would be so much encouraged to keep at my artwork. At the very least, I wouldn't have to semi-console myself with the idea that "the trolls railing me are paying for my 'Monthly Tugboat.'" I'm sure that you know what I'm talking about; I'm not proud to be on SSI, just grateful. A little miffed over it, but grateful nonetheless.
Really, the most I ask at this time is an occasional cup of coffee to keep me going. Any token of appreciation is indeed appreciated.
As with you, I tend to have an inerta problem. I don't call it laziness because I find myself very motivated to keep going once I actually do, a condition people call 'Flow.' The problem is always the initial transfer from "A body at rest" to "A body at motion" and getting into Flow. It's a common problem for most people, I imagine. (My biggest obstacle in this area is feeling rested enough to get started. Getting a decent sleep pattern is always like pulling teeth, especially when you're a night owl in a world that demands you get up at the crack of dawn; that's when I usually fall asleep. Ugh!)
That's what I'm doing with D&D with my artstyle. Not only am I combining Anthro with Human styles, and even showing a variety of body types--an important step--but I'm creating a campaign world that combines an Old School Renisaunce setting with some Steampunk trappings. I'm titling it Æthercoil, and you'll see more of it on my blog.
I'll be using Serif's DrawPlus for my inkpen duties. Not only does it have a very low learning curve when it comes to the Ink Pen tool, but it also has the B-Spline tool that is also good for pen inking.
Yeah, I understand the hangups some have about understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders, especially with the current Dramas surrounding it and how Auties get treated and understood in some parts. People really need to be more compassionate and less prove Gabe from Penny Arcade right.

Fanatic-Fusion In reply to davidfoxfire [2015-10-07 00:43:22 +0000 UTC]
True, and yup. You have to take it for what it's worth the social security office doesn't discourage people from getting a job they can handle but you have to make a certain threshold so it won't effect the benefits too much you see chris chan had an enormous amount of advice from the kacey troll on youtube and he only cared to a point then he stopped caring, it shows he would never change. Anyway, if it helps you that's why it's there, the issue I have with the government is on a whole different level I don't want to get into but let's just say opportunities to gravitate everyone away from assistance are very flawed and geared toward money making for the government. The U.S practically lives off of money it doesn't have the reason why we see donations this and donations that is because it seems we are a money driven society to overspend what we don't have so I highly doubt SSI is as big of an issue as that though some might see it as contributing to the problem the whole system is screwed up not just assistance programs.
I'm sure everyone has that same mindset, we're all human more or less but you can't run off of appreciation all the time, from what I understand popular youtubers like team fourstar suffer from depression but they fight through it. The idea is if anything goes to your head it negatively affects you, take it for what it's worth and move on. Easy to say but hard as rock to follow.
Well laziness and a lack of care I looked it up and I can rightfully say I suffer from major depression which is why I said the only remedy for it is to fight through it to find the motivation and push myself if needed. But I understand finding and sticking to a schedule is difficult but not impossible however success does come at a price and you kind of have to do some kind of mental training to keep going.
Cool!
I've seen some screenshots and videos of it, looks like a painter version of inkscape/coreldraw.
Autism has become the replacement word for retarded given the internet culture the world especially the U.S lives under i'd say there are far worse things than autistics mainly the fact people are running rampant and can't really learn to deal with others opinions without literally starting a verbal war. I try to say the problem is society in general and I get proven right over and over again.

I know that SSI has that options, and when I do find a job I'll be having that in mind. While I do have my own hangups that keep me from employment, they're not the same total indifference that CWC had. I just see it as below the belt when someone complains that someone they wouldn't want to hire or even see getting hired on the dole. Compare his monthly check to the bill the taxpayers will be stuck with by his eventual incarcination. That Wiki would go, "Chris-chan sat in his jail cel in Adseg again. To date, he has spent $X00,000 of YOUR money." (Me? I just go, "My God, his SSI check's bigger than mine. Do you know what I can do with $1300 a month? With the right plan, I could get something going that would rake in enough money to get off Social Security for good!")
Easy to say, hard to follow, how true is that. I usually have a saying, "When the storm comes, hole yourself up, wait til the storm passes, and then move on." Maybe while you're holed up you can do something in the meantime, but no need to make a bad emotion any worse, right?
I would suggest seeing a doctor about the depression bit. I might not approve of an overmedicated society, but the right anti-depressant to keep the chemicals in your brain ballanced will go a long way. I attribute my post-lolcow life to them.
There's a sale on all Serif programs www.serif.com/ if anyone wants a deal. The image of Draw Plus being a "Paintier Corel Draw" isn't lost on me, especially with the eased learning curve.
Society in General, Great Minds Think Alike. I'm thinking that this increase of "The Odds of your child being diagnosed with Autism" is caused by Autism being used like they used ADD last decade: To identify undesirable children and exlude them from the general population.
