My dear Master Oznerol, please forgive me; I had intend to post more and sooner but the computer failed me and so I can only ask for your pardon - I hate to keep my best friend on deviantArt.com waiting for so long and then send so little.
I shall do my best to send more as it occurs to me (assuming I can find a more co-operative computer!):
The image that has occurred to me is, in fact, from THE WORLD OF ICE AND FIRE rather than the novels themselves. I have always found the mental image of Queen Visenya's acquisition of the Vale with no more than an implicit threat very arresting - the Dark Sister with a small and secret smile on her normally-severe features, sitting straight-backed with little King Ronnel perched on her knee like a favourite nephew and in all innocence making friends very enthusiastically with this mysterious, lovely lady who has flown onto his life ON A DRAGON! (even as his own lovely mother the Queen Dowager locks eyes with the rival who has just rendered House Arryn completely defenceless and somehow remains the picture of courteous dignity and poise - even as her hands threaten to shake so badly that she much clutch her gown with a death-grip to avoid shaming herself).
An image of this moment in the History of the Seven Kingdoms could very well be a triumph of misleading friendliness undermined (perhaps underpinned) by hidden tensions through the excellent work of your own artistic skills Master Oznerol.
Stay Well and if you don't like this idea, then please send to me again and I shall try to think up another.

I was actually worried, thought something had happened to my staunchest follower. Glad that it isn't so.
Well, it is a really interesting suggestion, Visenya would be exciting to draw, clad in mail and plate, in dire contrast with the Arryn queen, dressed in rich courtly robes, a splendid brocade gown and a crown on her temples. I'd have to twist the idea in order to save me time and sweat, as the context would complex and grandilocuent: a dragon, several characters (including a child, which is extremely difficult to portray) and the Eyrie around them. I'll have to doodle and sketch around.
Give me moar suggestions, moar! I'm hungry of ideas and lately mine haven't been overflowing. I have a personal piece on the works, around a historical character. I'm even doing research to depict him more accurately and a preliminar piece on paper and by pencil has already been done. I shall do it digitally soon enough, I hope.

Master Oznerol, I shall do my very best to come up with more Good Ideas by your command (by the way, my idea for the Two Queens and the King Who Flew - working title - was that you would focus on Queen Visenya, Queen Shara and King Ronnel exclusively, rather than adding superfluous details like Vhagar and the Aerie; I thought that The Dark Sister was more than intimidating enough in her own right, especially if she were drawn as being closer to the Point of View in this particular picture, to make her seem to tower over the last Queen of Mountain and Vale).
So far as other ideas for TWOIF pictures go, one thought that occurs to me is that it might be interesting to show King Viserys I in his element as the Peacemaker King - standing between either Prince Daemon and Ser Otto Hightower or Queen Alicent and Princess Rhaenyra with an arm thrown around both of them, smothering their hostility with sheer physical presence and that enormous weight of raw goodwill he carries around like a favourite Teddy Bear.
I have to admit that I've always been fond of the idea that, like Prince Aemond to King Aegon II, The Rogue Prince was "half the size, but twice as fierce" when compared to King Viserys I and it amuses me to no end when I imagine the Young King keeping Prince Daemon very firmly under his thumb by half-smothering him with his demonstrations of Brotherly Love even as he takes him into his confidence (like a cross between Father Christmas and the younger Henry VIII).

I'd say "Professor Tolkien beat Mr Martin to a Good Idea by whole DECADES … Again!" (That was cheeky of me, but I do have to admit that this particular portion of the Appendices always makes me think of The Battle of Trident and Vice Versa).
I would also have to say "Yes PLEASE!" if you are hinting that you happen to be currently working on a depiction of this particular tragedy from the History of Middle Earth.

Tomorrow I will answer you properly, for now a teaser:
After Oberyn unhorsed him. Willas is raised by two retainers, with one of his legs in an akward position. Oberyn looks with his visor raised to Willas, half-dismayed.

Libra1010 In reply to Oznerol-1516 [2014-12-02 20:15:30 +0000 UTC]
Now this sounds like a very solid concept; I suspect that Prince Oberyn would display his distaste at the whole unfortunate business as well as a certain dismay at the damage done to a decent young man - if Lord Mace is in the picture I suspect the Red Viper would be giving him a very cold sort of look indeed.

I may have to think for some little while before I come up with a VERY good idea Master Oznerol, but it occurs to me that I would enjoy seeing The Mountain that Rides being driven back into the waters of The Red Fork by Ser Edmure Tully's counter-attack at the Stone Mill - this is, I must admit, one of my favourite unwritten scenes from the books and quite possibly the most humiliating defeat of Ser Gregor's career.
I must admit that I sometimes wonder if King Robb and Ser Bryndens castigation of Ser Edmure stems from raw envy that he was able to hand Lord Tywin AND The Mountain such a splendid thrashing without any help from The Blackfish or The King in the North … but that is probably more cynical than accurate.

You know what? That is another good suggestion. However composition may be a nighmare! I have to make a bunch of preliminary sketches and see what I'm able to do. I have some ideas!
However I outran you and I have already started an artwork: the crippling of Willas Tyrell at the hands of Oberyn: Tourney and armor fest!
I was also thinking about some classical scenes from the books, like: "the things I do for love", the siege of Riverrun, and something with Tyrion. I want to do something with Tyrion, because I never dared before to depict our beloved Imp!

Libra1010 In reply to Oznerol-1516 [2014-12-01 19:41:24 +0000 UTC]
I rather enjoy Tyrion Lannister's company, but I would never say that I LOVED him; he's a decent man placed in an ugly position and trying to make the best of what little he has been given, but he also has more than a little too much of his Father in him for me to like him unreservedly.
When it comes to Point of View characters give me Ser Davos Seaworth or Lord Eddard Stark or Ser Barristan Selmy any day of the week! (less entertaining but company more to my tastes).
Concerning Tyrion Lannister, why not show him on a table in Casterly Rock back in the days when his Uncle Gerion used to place him there and make much of his knowledge? (Alternatively you might show him as he meets Tysha for the very first time, possibly having just dropped a copy of the Seven-Pointed Star in his eagerness to help the personable young lady he and his Big Brother have just stumbled upon).
Now also I like the idea of seeing The Heir to Highgarden (out)matched against the Red Viper - it will be interesting to see the contrast between The Kingdom of the Reach and the Principality of the Sands made manifest in these two duellists! (May I please ask if you intend to depict the point just prior to the Accident or afterwards, when The Red Viper does his best to make amends for his excessively-succesful tilt?).
Stay Well Master Oznerol!

I have just posted a pair of suggestions regarding Tyrion Lannister, Master Oznerol and hope that you will like at least one of them!
Now I know that you are more interested in depicting characters from the era of the Novels, but the following image occurred to me earlier today and was too vivid not to share so please forgive me if I share it with YOU:-
I imagined The Sons of the Dragon, King Aenys and Prince Maegor, together in the Red Keep and right after The King has presented his new Hand with the sword Blackfyre - His Grace is clearly doing his best to make his younger brother a friend and has clearly gone beyond the gesture of gifting the latter their fathers sword because he is making a brave effort to HUG the man soon to become known as Maegor the Cruel.
I imagine King Aenys as pressing Blackfyre upon his brother with one hand and attempting to throw his arm around Prince Maegors shoulders in a brotherly embrace - an attempt somewhat handicapped by Little Brother being just a bit too BIG for Elder Brother to actually encircle his neck with only one arm.
Meanwhile Prince Maegor holds Blackfyre (sheathed) across his body, his customary expression of stoic single-mindedness dissolving at the edges with a rather tragic confusion, as if he can't quite work out how to deal with someone showing AFFECTION around his rather than dread or stark terror (doubtless any bystanders are divided between those similarly bemused and those fighting the impulse to laugh … and hopefully a few rather charmed by the sight of the Sons of the Dragon getting on well with one another).
All this makes for a fabulously awkward mental image and I really do wish I had the talent to draw it up for posterity!

Libra! My dearest follower:
I noticed that the next deviation I upload will be the 200th!
I cannot submit something plain or uninteresting, it must be an excellent artwork. Thus I think the best would be a full-fledged SCENE!
I need you to suggest me scenes to paint! But preferably from later times, that is from ASOIAF or the time-frame covered by Dunk&Egg.

Libra1010 In reply to Oznerol-1516 [2014-11-23 16:18:31 +0000 UTC]
Master Oznerol, congratulations on your forthcoming second century of art pieces!; concerning the scene you would like to paint, why not show a scene from Balon Greyjoys Rebellion? (this would allow you to depict characters like King Robert, Lord Stannis, Lord Tywin and Lord Eddard together, not to mention WORKING together).
It's easy to imagine a scene from the Siege Camp at Pyke - King Robert awaiting the last assault with his usual enthusiasm while Lord Stannis does the actual planning (scowling in concentration all the while), even as Lord Eddard and Lord Tywin trade the looks of men extremely uncomfortable to be working together (it occurs to me that showing Lord Eddard and Lord Tywin confront one another at the Sack of Kings Landing would also be a worthy challenge).
I hope you stay well and that if you don't like this suggestion you will feel free to ask me for another!
