I don't mind you calling me Steve, that's who I am. I wouldn't have a problem sending you something you could print but unfortunately this was one of many paintings that got deleted. All I have is this low res copy. I believe a higher res still might be on allposters.com (just search Samurai Spirit) but that of course comes with a price tag. I might have something for you on a different site, I'll look into and get back with you.

Thanks I appreciate the encouraging words.

okay I understand..perhaps it would be wise to make backups for your portfolio in the future so you wont lose anything when there are problems with your computer or anything..

It would be awesome if you could fix me up!..I'll hear from you then^^

Hehe actually I deleted them on purpose. It was a time in my life where I wanted a fresh start so I deleted all my artwork and all copies...this copy was in a folder I had over looked that had some other art in there as well.

Your painterly style is absolutely gorgeous... I don't understand how you do not have a job in the industry after reading your bio. You truly have a deserving talent, my friend! Definitely a plus watch on you...

Hope to see more of your work, and maybe learn from your style, perhaps?

I hope the same... maybe when I finish my studies in 4 years time, I hope to work too in a studio. Cool thing is that where I live, some big names like Pixar, LucasArts, and EA are nearby. I'd love to see someone like you there!

Good luck to you, and I hope to give some commentary and guidance along the way!

Hello Steve.
I thought I'd drop by and recommend an artist you might like (if you don't know him already). His name is Simon Combes and he was into wild life photography, travelling and, of course, the creation of stunningly realistic artwork of wild animals.

Since you did a few wild animal paintings yourself, I thought it might be interesting for you to look at his work.

Here is his site: http://www.simoncombesartist.com
And here is a really good book of his: Simon Combes - Great Cats

PS: I'm also currently completely into Mass Effect - so I really enjoy your fan art of said game very much!

stevegoad In reply to kentriodon [2010-05-30 19:13:10 +0000 UTC]

Hey I appreciate the info, I've seen his work before he's really good. I had thought about pursuing wildlife art several times but I quickly realized I needed money to travel to get the kind of paintings I was looking for. Not to mention the money to have the right camera equipment and what not. I might pursue fine art at a later time though, for the time being Digital art really appeals to me. Plenty of time to pursue both!

Awesome, have you completed it yet? The ending is pretty spectacular...but of course it's best to build up our team on all the side mission before doing the main missions.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kentriodon In reply to stevegoad [2010-06-03 19:12:46 +0000 UTC]

I agree with you. For those of us with limited means, digital art is certainly the better option. Plus, one learns a lot about painting, too, when one paints digitally.

I have completed the first Mass Effect, but I still want to play it through with another Shepard (male, this time) and being more on the renegade side. I'm still not comfortable with it, being evil, that is. But I'll try it. Maybe I'll like it, who knows.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

stevegoad In reply to kentriodon [2010-06-04 14:03:55 +0000 UTC]

LOL I know what you mean I tried renegade in ME2 and there were some options I just couldn't do. I mean some options are just down right murderous. I know it's just a game and all but I am a firm believer in for what a person thinks in their heart so are they. It's no different than a preacher who looks good clean and wholesome on the exterior but yet goes home and looks at inappropriate things. I just don't think you can separate the two. Same with video games, how can a person who's good consider to do evil things to others, video game or not that's just weird to me. I am always for good conquering evil in insurmountable odds.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kentriodon In reply to stevegoad [2010-11-13 18:09:04 +0000 UTC]

Well, I finally, finally finished Mass Effect 2, and even though the ending and narrative as a whole isn't as strong as in ME1, I was rather fond of the more streamlined game play (even though, I have to admit that I missed the Mako). If you haven't played them yet, I also really recommend playing the DLC content "Overlord" and "Shadow Broker". Overlord has some great ideas and from the set up and storytelling more feels like Mass Effect 1 and Shadow Broker is a fast-paced action mission with Liara. I really liked them both (almost more than the main game, actually, but that's just me...).
