At least you admit it. I always find it interesting that the shots with the highest downloads do not have the most favs. lol

Truthfully, more than half that watch me don't ever comment. So, I really don't look at that. I have some really wonderful people that do watch and comment, though. I am very lucky.

It would appear to me you could, if you were me, look at favs/watches/and comments in this way....


Comments:
I'm usually looking to help here, to me DA is a place to come for critique, before I spend $$$$$ having a print run made up or whatever, hopefully somone will say,"you know that will look 100% better if you flip it horizontal and level it to 256 levels". so comments to me generally indicate room for improvement. HOWEVER I'm quite happy to drop a 'that looks cool' type post, and happy to receive them, but generally to my mind the comment is the lowest accolade, mainly I rate by the word, and compared to me no one has much to type

Favs:
This is a different ball game, you're waring your heart on your sleeve, hey I have a nude lady as my fav right now, and everyone can see!!!!! The fave also means you can re-view that image many times, and indicates that not only did you like the image, and had nothing more to say(in the best way *speechless*), hey even 'that is very nice' is just too trite for a sensitive, beautiful image, and to unexpressie to boot. But i will se this image every timie I go to my fav gallery, where as the comment gets marked read and forgotten.
And also think, someone's fav gallerey, _could_ say a lot more about them than thier own gallery or comments. Mine is a very instinctive repesentation of what images I like, and probably represents a lot of my own primal urges and needs
So to me this is the second most valuble accolade.


Watches:
Not only was I attracted to the first image I saw , after habitually browsing the user's gallery having found some other image that links back, I found the entire folio to be of interest. I want to know when they release new works. In my case this may also be an artist I think I can learn from. Not only do I like this deviant's work, I'm prepared to want to know as soon as new work comes out.

So to me if I ever get a watch, I finally know I've manage to build a body of work that appeals to at least one person on quite a few levels. Or who generally feels my work is worth keeping up to date with.

On this account to date I've only set 2 watches. faves and comments are 2 a penny.

Anyway this may be a higly distorted view of things, but I know a few DA lurkers, and thier views are not 180 degrees opposed to mine.




*deep breath*
to your credit, as hetro/chaste guy, looking at your images of yourself are one of the few occasions I have felt comfortable looking at the male nude. you manage to make the fact the model is nude secondary, and *somehow* communicate deep feelings of need and contemplation ... cannot find the words. Anyway they remind me of lost loves and the emotions therein, or moment when you stand back and look at your life.


Oh dear this has got terribly rambling, anyway I think all your work is dead neat, and somehow you manage to trancend the derivative 'Athena' print and truly communicate love or longing a man can have for a woman, or a man, or his PC (whatever floats your boat).

It was easy, I'd watch you, if the subscription system would let me in. As far as I can see there is nothing to dislike about the image. while there are many technically skilled photographers on DA, there are very few loke yourself and Arachnid 15 who can really make you feel with their imagery.
