I know of Calcutta as a specific town for spiritual reasons (mainly b/c of the Kali Mandir), but I'm very curious about the world so I like to spend my time learning about new countries outside of where I live. India has such a big place in the world, both as a cradle of civilization & especially as an emerging technology hub.

Nice ! Kali-ji is my favourite deity. Its good to know someone who's into spirituality. I know someone who keeps visiting Dakshineswar, been there a couple of times. Its a nice n peaceful place where the ashrams are.
Well, keep in touch. Hope you get to visit here sometime.

*nods* Maa is such a beautiful, strong woman. I'm glad to hear that she is important to you, too! I'm hoping to visit Dakshineswar at least once before I die. We have a Kali Mandir [link] in the US, but it is like 1500 miles/3000km from where I live. I think it is a sister-shrine to Dakshineswar.
