Description - What... What have you done, Papyrus... What has... Gotten into your mind, so you could DUST them so mercilessly... - her body could handle the damage delivered by the skeleton's rapier no longer. The balance between the innate determination and magic was disrupted, leading to an imminent defragmentation of her whole body. Undyne, head of the Royal Guard, fell to the Great Massacre.

- i'm so sorry, undyne... you were a good friend. in fact, the best one i could ever have... not like it's a great excuse to hear, especially for you... but there's no other credible way for me to stop them, the human! believe me, it appears i've tried to change their mind so many times! and paradoxically, as many times they've been finishing me off as i have been sparing them. terrible! horrifying! unbelievable, indeed! but this is all clear truth! i can't stay aside, watching you turning goners on my eyes!.. i had to. undyne, i want for you to know, even if you can't imagine the scale of our... issue: i were forced to go on this kind of disgraceful crime for your own good. and i... really hope that you can understand me, i believe soon i manage to change our fate for... to a one we all can appreciate... one without any harm and tears. one we all dreamed about so dearly!..

However, Undyne could not respond. The melt caused by the magic escaping from the already destabilised body structure. All she could do is just letting down tears, all in silent sorrow, realising the inevitability of others' demise. Demise of a worthy price.

- i... can't look at it anymore, please, do not resist. forget it all, forget my face! it's not going to take long...

Once Papyrus' desperate attempts have been silenced by the blowing wind, a gigantic arm, sparkling in crimson red and cold cyan, sprouted out of his back and punched through Undyne's torso, reaching to her trembling soul, making all her burn in the scarlet fever of treason. Even a being as DETERMINED as her could not withstand the murderous force of this dread maniac... Was her loss for this wicked monster once being her friend, or was it in general due to his power already being outmatching to hers... It is unfortunately to be kept a mystery at this point, as Undyne has already perished in the fiery agony of hopelessness and fear.

...

One more down. He felt her fallen might inflowing to his own soul. Determination brought along with it could not only heighten his LV, but also undoubtedly extend the spectrum of his capabilities. In its pure state, as it was present in Undyne's soul, it actually could boost the overall process of transmission and digestion, so the newly acquired energy is converted into a fully fledged magical spell that can be easily stored in the memory for further usage. Papyrus, even though reluctantly, had to admit: he had gained a lion's share from his current victim. His luck has unexpectedly proven itself loyal to him in his new life position that could be called anti-heroic to say the least. How ironic... But no matter how ironic it was, it was a necessity for the fate to go along his road, but in no way otherwise. It was in his objectives to collect as much EXP to turn it into LV as possible, for his power standing the GREATEST above that of human's. Only this path was left open for him, as the mercy, the threats have ensued in despicable outcomes... Now, he had to stop the slaughter... Even though, his intuition kept whispering about keeping on with it. Not to mention, even his seemingly long gone brother was. His spirit kept following the skeleton ever since the beginning of the Massacre, as it was initially Sans' plan - this whole devastation in the name of salvation. But unfortunately for Sans, he had not proven himself resilient enough to take his brother down. And thus he had to pass what he has gained to Papyrus... He was the FIRST among the MANY sacrifices to be made. And it was him ON THE FIRST PLACE to insist on the procession of it afterwards. He was left unseen for most of the time to Papyrus. But it was namely his advice, his voice is what led Papyrus to his current success through the given objectives and the detailed instructions on their fulfillment... But Papyrus had no more willpower, urge for any assignment: mentally he had been drained out.

- heya, bro, got a golden fish caught on your hook, huh? - the clear baritone voice has awoken somewhere within his mind.
- sans? is that you again? i HAVE told you not to disturb when i'm in consideration of further decisions, have i?
- needless to say... ya wanna have a break from the job stuff, huh? what's with the human then? gonna let 'em order their usual?
- gh! of course not!.. sigh... sans, when we're on the middle of the way, don't you think it's too inappropriate for your sarcastic show-offs?
- oh, i'm not the one showin' off. it's just that we're AFTER the midway point and there's not even a minute to throw our bones on a couch.
- hmpf, from a slacker i hear. now, please, if you could..... i want to stay on my own with my thoughts.
- feelin' bad for the fishlady?
- SANS! WE AREN'T!.. discussing the fallen... SIGHHHH... now. GO.
- ...
Suddenly, the skeleton's leg twitched, as if it did not belong to him... Making him fall over.
- ... just keep in your skull... BRO: the human is on the loose. DO NOT tell i didn't warn ya.

The sonic apparition of his brother has vanished as fast as it had appeared, allowing Papyrus to make up his own mind about the situation and leaving him with an open field of choices to make. Papyrus chose to take a little rest he deserved. In the end, it was him to do all the dirty work: The Great Massacre. So with the aid of newfound malicious powers, he could later avenge his brother, Undyne, his family and friends - EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. So he could stand their protector before this external menace in face of the "human". That "human" was indeed a puzzle of the mind. Their ability to reset the time back to a certain point was truly ingenuine. Amazing even. With such a blessing at hand, the human could have freed them all long ago... But, oh what a misfortune, they have picked a different path to march along. But there had to be no worries, as he, Papyrus, has already known how to achieve the same power as the human: all he had to do is to consolidate all the soul powers under one mind. HIS mind. And only then would he be able to ascend beyond time and get a hold of its scrolling bar going downwards to change its vector to the opposite. Only then would he be able to eliminate the human... But as for now... He had to plan his moves meticulously and to hold his temper still as there was no place for indeliberate actions. He had to infiltrate the Hotland and the CORE once he is done in the Waterfall - the following was his objective. But... Papyrus had second thoughts about his brother's plans. Deeply, he still did not wish for the murder to continue. He at heart still wished to end the human BEFORE everyone else and so he got up and looked around... No soul to be present nearby - his senses have informed him about the surrounding environment.

- maybe... maybe i still can outstand the human in the upcoming battle, since... what if i've gained enough force to strike them out? undyne's soul's given me the observably excessive amount of LV compared to the rest. this is what's going to aid me in the battle! i have to prepare myself now then. i'm gonna be the one... nyeh-eh-eh...

The flaming aura of red and cyan has surrounded the skeleton, rising him higher in the air, to the top of a large cliff, where he previously encountered Undyne. The sight position was selected perfectly. Now he could observe the area from every angle, so the approaching human would be seen from afar.

- excellent. now just you wait, human, my attack would come a surprise to you... - and so he summoned his large bow and has arranged several arrows from his quiver in a queue to perform some precise shots on the human. - come along... have i got... a surprise for you.

...

Eventually, the human showed up coming onwards, in all their "beauty": that selfish look, self-confidence streaming from all their spirit. An immature spirit, still forming, yet in possession of such a glorious might, encased in such a fragile young body... They kept paving their way through the empty pathway calmly, with their own goals set in mind... Up until they have reached the foot of the cliff... Because it was the moment of their inner piece's disturbance, as the arrows have been unloaded in the air... Initially, it had not seemed there were many and the human did not even dare to look up... At first glance it did not seem like even a potential menace: just a few arrows spawning so suddenly in the air. But the whole situation took a different flow when the arrows, halfway to the ground, have started multiplying, replicating themself one by one, eventually, covering a substantial area. They could have noticed such rapid changes, had they looked up, but their pride had not allowed to so and now they were to counter the consequence of their inattention. The human managed to evade some of the first arrows successfully, but their number was steadily growing, making it harder and harder to dodge. Subsequently, the human had to realise that if they do not reach the entrance below the cliff within seconds, they would be first immobilised, then have their soul cut into shreds to eventually start everything in Waterfall from scratch... But it was too late for making regrets, as one... Two, three, five, seven, ELEVEN arrows in total have cut these tiny threads, linking their very SOUL with the body. They cut them in their arms first, and then legs, just like scissors, compelling the human to fall powerless after one great leap to the entrance... They have fallen for his trap.

... Something made the air before the human twist and tremble until she noticed a tall figure in a long trench coat standing before, all encoated in black smoke. Its fractured red pupils with cyan arcs around were staring at them... Unblinkingly...

- a c t . - said the figure sinisterly and then its pupils have turned orange and blue and took a somewhat regular shape. The black mist around the sillhouette has vanished and it revealed... Papyrus, standing above the human, with his eye sockets closed...

- apparently, your own self-ensurance played a good trick on your narrow attention span, - the skeleton has opened the eye sockets and without any hesitation delivered the human a satisfactory kick under the chin, sending them on a pleasant three-meter flight. He watched them hitting the ground hard. Such an embarrassing situation impeded him to see how worthy the opponent is... He concentrated on the impulses their soul were producing...

- lv 5? five? incredible, you slippery snail, incredible... this is fitting the best scenario ever so perfectly! fighting you won't be even frustrating. in fact, a deal of minutes that is!

Papyrus, satisfied, looked at the human getting up. He wanted for his enemy to get a straight stance one last time to finish them off in a chain of rapid and quick-witted blows. But at the same time he had to forget the human is still presenting a formidable peril to him, as their strength and agility at this point are surpassing those of humans and even some monsters. Not to mention the control over time... However, this time skeleton also had new techniques to treat the human with generously.

By the time the human managed to recover from the rough boot hit, Papyrus still kept looking at them, but this time, there was something different in his glare: it expressed almost insane, yet silent elation. As if he could now sense... No, see. He could exactly see something... Read through what normally remains unseen... Something, that for a long time could remain only known to the human themselves... Undyne... Her soul... It has gifted him with firmly new vision of the world around him... This new perception was an ultimate, exquisite mechanism... The radiation emitted by the souls of every living thing could be now processed, deciphered, so he could exactly read one's WILL... SUCH was the power of PURE DETERMINATION, extracted from the soul, that having endured all the difficulty throughout its sadly short life, kept the experience cumulating years to be reused for further advent, much deeper than before. This experience has later formed a shield as durable as a diamond... And it was HIM to inherit that majestic power later for him move to his objectives, to his goal with doubled acceleration... For a mere moment, one of Papyrus' pupils shrunk and fractured once more... It was that very moment when a new whisper passed through skeleton's mind.

- i, WE are grateful to you... - the familiar baritone this time sounded completely unrecognisable, fake and fraudulent, as if it was a mask to cover something else... The time of which has not yet arrived.
