You know how it is, you're painting a comic to make fun about the speculations what the keys to the box are, and then the latest episode makes it obvious. If only you hadn't been so lazy and finished the comic earlier! But the comic still is fun I think, so here it is!Now color/font style for the text bubbles and new panel style (or lack thereof). I will probably keep the bubbles but get back to framed panels in the future.
The flashback pictures are screenshots from the show, and the background in the last panel is by . Everything else is by me.

My theory is that to get key, mane 6 do not only need to past trial what will test their elements ( like longer and more advanced version of what they had to pass in second episode of fist season ), but they also need to teach their elements to other ponies as well, and the presents they get in return are the keys.
Rarity teaches Coco about generosity and get first key. Dash teaches Spitfire about loyalty and get another key.
I wonder what kind of secondary 6 will looks like, so far it is just Coco and Spitfire.

I had this idea and told Sethisto about it in an email. And I have another good theory which completes the one Commander began :
The episodes with the keys are with only one of the Mane 6. That's why we didn't have keys in Bats! or Pinkie Apple Pie.
Then, I can say that the episodes with keys are separated by an episode without keys.
The next episode won't have any keys, but the second next has all the elements for a key : a secondary character (played by Weird Al Yankovic) and focused on one of the Mane 6 (Pinkie). If there's no key in "Pinkie Pride", all the theory is down.

I figured the Mane 6 would be the keys to open the box, but I never thought that they'd literally turn into keys. And the reasons for why they turned into keys is just insane.
