Kick back...the large trail of dust and debris left behind a fast mover. I've seen quarter horse racers kick up clods of clay the size of tennis balls and set them airborne...higher up than a two story building. Cars, jets and speed boats aren't the only things capable of leaving this kind of impressive wake. Darkened the shot so you can see the kick back better.

I should also mention that this visual should help others understand why many horses who are used to the lead or a clear position on the outside and then one day find themselves boxed in a pack do poorly, they HATE all that dirt going right into their faces.
