I am. More of a recent fan but I've been snagging any copies of the games to play 'em. 
Plus, I cosplay. Which brings me to a point about how much I both love and despise the character designs of Kōsuke Fujishima. Great fantastic designs but my gawd...they have such complicated patterns! Each cosplay is basically made of 'bias-tape'. >.< Poor old sewing machine just can't handle it.

I'll say the same thing about Fujishima's design to you that I say to everyone: his designs make for really comfortable cosplays with a high probability of success, BUT just aren't that interesting overall. Mutsumi Inomata and Kazuto Nakayama are where its really at with the WHOA NELLY designs. ♫
Bias-tape? ^^ I used regular braid trim and MAN I HAD TO BUY SO MUCH. XD; The sewing machine put up a fight for sure.

Braid??? Why would you do that to yourself? Which costume was it?
Bias-tape is Satan. Great for trim, and overall designs, works really well for most designs but like the braid....there is never enough. However, while making my Rita Mordio cosplay I found out how to make ribbon and in essence bias-tape in colors that are typically not available.

I really don't cosplay enough. >.> But I'll have to give that bias tape a try ::rebuilding Senel's kilt thingy:: with those white grid patterns (tried using masking tape on vinyl previously and it just got icky after a particularly long hot summer)

Yes. Bias-tape is useful for all complicated patterns and since it's just fabric makes for really neat and precise designs.

I have not played a Tales game since Tales of Phantasia on the Super Famicom/SNES. I remember the battle with Dhaos (Did I ever beat him?)
This is a very exciting piece, quite dramatic. Everything seems to be heading for the villian, but my attention does not focus on any particular character, which is good. Instead I see the battle of good vs. evil nicely balanced. Nice triangular setup of the heroes too.

You're only the dozen-eth person to tell me that. Go figure. XD; I'm one of the "late" fans who got into it earlier this decade. I think myself and others like me got burned out with Final Fantasy's need to eye-gasm everything. Tales, certainly in this day and age, is willing to sacrifice cutting edge style/design for quality story-writing (...usually XD), something Square lost a while ago.

You can never go wrong when listening to final boss battle music. (I suppose there are some rare occassions, like against Yu Yevon in FFX, where the music was not so stellar to me. The battle was terribly easy too....yes, Square is no longer in its Golden Years...I may have to look into the Tales series of late.)

This made me squee. I'm a fangirl, yes, but a fangirl deprived of amazing fanart like this! Poor Legendia, so underappreciated yet so awesome at the same time.
Very very intense. Fits the battle, though - took me forever to beat that stupid blob, and the GIANT ASS CUTSCENE FULL OF FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE AND POWER CHORDS didn't help either.
Aha. Makes me want to plug my PS2 back in and actually finish those character quests.

As much as Nerifes gave me waking nightmares, I'm at least thankful the Main Quest ended with a REAL FIGHT and not "...I forgive you" "Oh, okay!" THE END. XD;;

I still haven't played Tales of the Abyss, actually - I've only watched the anime, but I have been scouring the game stores around here for it. No luck yet. D: I really don't want to go to Amazon for it, but it seems I might not have a choice.

If you're watch the ToA animation, you don't really have to play the game. It's almost scene-for-scene, line-for-line, the same story.
