Around 600 years ago, Xiosi hunters used skunks to hunt rather than wolf-dogs as skunks were much more effective at locating the demon foxes than other species. Xiosi hunters often bred skunks specifically for this purpose and while a higher percentage of people knew of the existence of Xiosi back then, the vast majority were still in the dark and just saw skunks as a nuisance. There was an attempted resurgence of breeding Xiosi-hunting skunks in the last 30 years but the trend quickly diminished.

Law is second to only Qioti in tracking Xiosi and he’d never even made an attempt to develop this ability, nor does he desire to hunt them. Even so, Trex, being the cautious type has compelled Sparkz to investigate Law, knowing this will provoke an attack.
