Description
Did this on my free time before graduation. That's right. I am gonna graduate (if I pass the Personal Finance final exam -_- Fuck.) Also, Pixlr sucks at doing what Photoshop does better. But I still use it in case of no Photoshop on any school computer. The Rave manga has ended with Haru and Elie getting married and having a son. I see less hate and more love.
The Fullmetal Alchemist manga, as well as its faithful "Brotherhood" animated series ended with Ed and Winry having kids. Again, less hate and more love.
Unlike both the Rave and FMA ending, The Naruto Manga finale, as well as The Last caused a controversy by having an ending when NaruHina, SasuSaku, SaiIno, ChoKarui and ShikaTema were canon. Because I see people bitching about the ending, especially anti ending people who were hardcore NaruSaku/NaruSasu/SasuKarin/SasuHina fans.
And this doesn't make any sense. Yes, FMA, Naruto and Rave are different shonen mangas made by different publishers and artists, but come on. Why the ending of Nardo is hated while FMA and Rave isn't when the ships are canon?

This is a reason why naruto fandom frustrate me to no ends...
Because you all just cant see the real reason...
"Uh why do you get mad, when other ANIME end with romance.. But when naruto does, you dont 8B"
You know why we get mad???
Because being true fans, we follow the manga ((not the fillers)) and the only naruhina moments EVER captured in the series, were in the fillers!!! Alllll the naruhina fans were blinded by this, because majority of them obviously followed the anime!!!
They dont see that naruhina really doesnt make sense or sasusaku!! ((especially sasusaku))
They just see the fan service that studio pierrot pulled out of their asses for you all, and with the help of kishi and the last movie ((which was terrible and awful))
So what couple should of happened?
Logically narusaku/narusasu
Knowing kishi, being to scared to tackle any homosexual couples, narusaku would of been just fine... Infact, naruto just standing ontop of a building, with all his friends cheering him on as hokage would of been perfect!! That way it would lead people to believe however they wanted it to end..Not the way kishi did it, with his rushed, everyone gets with everyone T__T because Naruto was never a romance manga!! Most of the romance bullcrap that happened was because of crappy fillers anyway!!!
There is nothing wrong with liking couples and pairing them... And if a couple makes sense and end up togetther, great!! But what kishi did was pure fanservice and he took everything from the manga and shat on it... Thats why, true fans are pisssed! Because it was a giant finger to people who actually followed the manga!!!
Also!! Have you been reading the train wreck known as gaiden!! Its like the naruto characters are new people themselves!! Its one punch after another!!

Not true. I am a Naruto fan and a NaruHina fan and I read ONLY the manga. I rarely watch the anime. In fact the only time I seriously watched the anime was this past Chuunin Exam Filler arch.
And I can tell you that, while there aren't many, there are NaruHina moments in the manga (and when I discuss NaruHina, I only use the manga for support) and each NH moment is strong and powerful.
As for SS, I don't like it. I ship SasuKarin instead.

LOL! I love how these people only consider anti-naruhina fans true Naruto fans. Like, what, are we not allowed to love the manga AND NaruHina? XD

You are only a true Naruto fan if you love NaruHina and SasuSaku.
But when you're someone like me that loves NaruHina and SasuKarin, you aren't a true fan. How dare you like a fanon pairing.

Please explain these naruhina manga moments in the manga???
Like I would like to re read them. I mean, not one sided moments where hinata only shows the interest and Naruto doesnt realize.... I mean where they both share something together, which you can call a canon moment, because its both of them...
Only thing I can remember was the first chunin exam, hinata giving naruto the medication, and hinata was fighting neji and naruto was cheering her on...
The pein thing was pretty bad, because once hinata confessed her love, he brushed her off completely.. And pretty much the rest of the moments are the last shitty oocness chapters where he somehow notices her.
Lol sorry to sound rough, but I honestly think all the fillers/fans/artwork make naruhina look awesome, but its just as dull as sasusaku ((but to be honest, I would rather naruhina than sasusaku))

Here is a journal entry that I posted prior to the series ending detailing NaruHina development through the series up to volume 64. Since NaruHina is now canon, I haven't bothered to continue with the part II.
--------
Since the entire fandom is getting their panties in a knot over the "deaths" of Naruto and Sasuke, (I use quotes because plot shield still covers them. They will come back to life. And I have a sneaking feeling at the cost of others.) I decided I'll throw my two cents in; most likely nobody (not even my watchers) will read this. Also, this will only go up to the volumes I have read (volume 1-64). While I'm aware of what's happening beyond, I will not comment on them because I don't have them on my nook. I may update this later when I get those volumes. (ie, next year).
Let me first begin is that I formerly use to ship SasuSaku, was a proud fan of Haruno Sakura (though I'll grudgingly agree that she's good at her job, ie, being completely useless unless that plot calls for badass medical ninjutsu or inhuman strength), and shipped NaruHina. I ironically liked Karin despite her being a "wrench" in SasuSaku.
Then I discovered Uchiha Madara and began to focus on the pre-Konoha setting. I honestly still prefer that time setting because that setting made fucking sense. When I tried to reconnect with the current timeline I discovered two things: I loathed both Haruno Sakura (thank you volume 49) and the pairing SasuSaku. I discovered I enjoyed NaruHina a whole lot more when it wasn't a "well, I suppose Naruto needs a girl too" pairing that's tacked on to SasuSaku, and that SasuKarin made a fuck ton more sense. Karin and Sasuke can relate to each other, plus both Karin and Hinata have valid reasons for loving their respective men. Sasuke saved Karin's life and Naruto saved Hinata's "spirit" (she admits that his smiling face saved her).
Now let's begin with, starting with NaruHina. (This will include it comparison to NaruSaku.)
1. Hinata admired Naruto from the beginning for never giving up on himself or his dream to be Hokage. Throughout the series this admiration has never stopped and has gradually grown into love and a desire to improve herself. Hinata never once expressed the fact that she finds Naruto physically attractive. For all we know she could find his physical appearance down right ugly! The fact is that Hinata's feelings for Naruto developed were based solely on his character, his never-say-die attitude.
On the NaruSaku front: Sakura never liked Naruto in the beginning. Throughout the series we see a begrudging acceptance on Sakura's part that eventually grows into a deep friendship, similar to that between siblings or friends that have known each other since kindergarten or military members that have known each other since their early years in the service. Sakura smiled softly in Naruto's direction when Sasuke told her Naruto saved her from Gaara. And Naruto has impressed her gradually by just being himself, but regardless Sakura has never expressed a romantic interest in Naruto.
2. Naruto's original thoughts on Hinata: Hyuga Hinata: A world-class freak who won't even look me in the eye. A shy little brunette. (volume 5, pg 53). Despite his original view on Hinata, during her battle against Neji, Naruto saw a totally different side of Hinata, a gutsy side. She stated herself that she couldn't bare to look uncool in front of the one she admires most (Naruto). Sakura points out to Naruto that she has noticed that Hinata is always watching Naruto, and Lee even states that Hinata is a lot like Naruto (both quotes can be found in volume 9). He was so impressed with Hinata's attitude and desire to change herself and so full of rage against Neji's cruel belittling of Hinata that he swore to avenge her defeat by defeating Neji. Which he did.
On the NaruSaku front: Naruto had liked Sakura from the beginning. Naruto's original thoughts on Sakura: Haruno Sakura: A total babe, but that's the problem... (volume 1, page 88). Naruto has never stopped liking Sakura. I frankly think he admires her. But he clearly realizes that Sakura is "out of his league" in a sense. Yet despite his continue love and admiration of Sakura, she never seems to return his feelings, Sakura's heart has been firmly fixed on Uchiha Sasuke. Sai figures out later that Naruto has deep feelings for Sakura, and eventually tells Sakura this, but I'll get to that later. The point is that Naruto has a "ghost love" for Sakura, a love that is at the moment unrequited.
3. Hinata sits next to Naruto during the first test of the Chuunin Exams, even offers to let him cheat off her paper. Of course Naruto declines. But I always found it a bit... odd that Kishimoto would draw these two characters sitting next to each other. He could've easily drawn any of the recently introduced ninja sitting next to Naruto or have him surrounded by fodder ninja, like Sasuke and Sakura was. No, he put Naruto next to Hinata. Odd isn't it?
On the NaruSaku front: By this point Sakura has come to accepted and somewhat admire Naruto to the point, like any good friend, she doesn't want to see his dream crushed forever. Thus she was willing to risk the wrath of both Naruto and Sasuke by declining the question and forcing their team to be kicked out of the Chuunin Selection Exams. There is nothing "romantic" about this action. Sakura is doing it out of her budding friendship for Naruto.
4. Naruto encourages Hinata against her fight against Neji. In fact he's also mad that Neji would dare say things like that to Hinata. He says as much. Hinata of course gets the courage to go on and fight Neji. Naruto cheers Hinata on throughout the entire battle. Even going so far as to tell Hayato to not stop the match and to everyone's surprise they see Hinata, broken and defeated, rise to her feet and tell Neji that she thinks he's torn between the two destinies of the Hyuga clan's main branch and cadet branch. Naruto vows to defeat Neji in revenge for Hinata.
On the NaruSaku front: Sadly we don't see much of the fight between Sakura and Ino since the majority of it was flashbacks. Naruto does yell at Sakura when she's possessed by Ino and that gives her the strength of will to kick Ino out of her head, but that's about it. There is nothing really deep here. Just one friend encouraging the other, Sakura did thank Naruto for his obnoxious battle cry of encouragement, though. This is also seen when Naruto fight's Kiba. Sakura is mainly just impressed with Naruto's quick wit and cleverness to adapt to the changing situation. On the flip side, Hinata did express concern for Naruto and torn between wanting to cheer Naruto or Kiba. So really, the only fight that contains anything to support either ship, is Hinata's fight against Neji.
5. Hinata encourages Naruto before his fight against Neji. In an awkward moment between the two of them, Hinata tells Naruto that when he cheered her on she felt like she changed and now she started to like herself a little bit more, and it was all because of Naruto! Naruto jokes that he's an awesome influence before going pensive and opening up to Hinata (something he never did with his own teammates), asking her blunting if her feelings were true and goes on to admit to her that he is embarrassed about how he always screws up and thus he puts on the tough-guy act. Hinata tells Naruto that he's really inspiring to watch and that in her opinion, he's a proud failure. She goes on to say that it's because Naruto's not perfect and that he has the guts to get back up when he falls and keep fighting, that is what she considers true strength and that she believes he's an incredibly strong person. This scene is important because this is the second time someone has told Naruto that he's, well... accepted by them! (the first being by Iruka). His teammates have never expressed such an acceptance towards Naruto (not in words at least, though they gradually accept him). Naruto is utterly surprised by this because he probably thought that Hinata hated him like the rest of the village, but... no! she finds him inspirational to watch, and she even likes and admires a trait he doesn't like in himself! (Keep this is mind for it'll come up later). Naruto admits that he was feeling depressed earlier and that Hinata totally cheered him up. He goes on to tell Hinata what he originally thought about her, a dark, timid, plain wierdo, then he adds "but actually... I think I kinda like folks like you!". (volume 11, pg 156-161)
On the NaruSaku front: Let's face it. There has never been a scene like this between Naruto and Sakura. Sakura's confession is another matter completely. But Naruto has never told Sakura that he's embarrassed about screwing up all the time and Sakura has never told Naruto that he's inspirational or that his actions encouraged her to better herself. The only time his actions have influenced Sakura was after he came back from failing to save Sasuke. Sakura wanted to help Naruto rescue Sasuke too, thus she goes and ask Tsunade to train her.
6. I'm skipping to when Naruto left because the next "shipping" themed scene is when Naruto rescues Sakura, but we must wait a bit to compare it to it's NaruHina counterpart. So... Hinata is the only one of the Naruto's year group to actually see him leave the village. She watches him (note this is one of two scenes showing Hinata actually watching Naruto in the manga. I discount the anime for shipping because there are more fillers than manga-canon episodes). Hinata is encouraged by Naruto's cheerful smile and optimism and decides to get stronger too.
On the NaruSaku front: Where was Sakura at the time Naruto was leaving the village? Training with Tsunade. Plain and simple. She may have said goodbye to him off camera but we will never honestly know. She did tell Naruto she was going to rescue Sasuke with him next time, but she didn't actually say goodbye. For that matter neither did Hinata, but she was there when he left. Why did Kishimoto have Hinata do that?
7. Two and half years pass, and Naruto doesn't meet up with Hinata until after he rescues Gaara. She faints (the only time in the manga she is shown fainting in Naruto's presents, she fainted when she went to visit him in the hospital after he came back from the failed rescue Sasuke mission two and half years prior, but we heard this from Kiba) in front of him and Naruto is surprised and a tad bit concerned.
On the NaruSaku front: Sakura shamelessly tries to flirt with Naruto. He doesn't even pick up on it, telling Sakura she hasn't changed at all, recognizing her instantly (though a bit surprised because she has gained more feminine physical features). Sakura states she almost didn't recognize Naruto. She goes on to admire the height Naruto got and is all smile-y about Naruto's surprise until Konohamaru shows up and shows Naruto the Ninja Centerfold he perfected. Naruto goes on to say he's moved on such trivial jutsu and has invented an even more pervy ninjutsu. Sakura is admiring Naruto until he says, this mentally commenting on his maturity, at this point she punches him. (In part two her tsundere character aspects really blossom here. They were present in the early chapters but you can really see Sakura's tsundere side in part two).
8. I'll touch on the NaruSaku stuff when I do the comparison, but for NaruHina, nothing much happens between until the second round of Sasuke Hunting. In which Naruto's team and Hinata's team are paired together to form an 8 man cell. Kakashi assigns a ninja dog, Yamato and Hyuga Hinata to Naruto. Now both have valid reasons for being with Naruto. Yamato can control Kurama and Hinata can use her Byakugan to scout for Sasuke. Yet, despite these clearly obvious reasons Kishimoto could've easily paired Naruto with Kiba or Kakashi. So, I wonder, was there a reason, other than Hinata's Byakugan that she went with Naruto and Yamato when the eight man cell split?
On the NaruSaku front: Naruto is always half serious about asking Sakura out on a date. I find this odd considering he's suppose to want to date Sakura, yet it always comes off as half serious, and she always replies frankly that he's paying the bill or makes an excuse about having to run errands or just out right hits him. Thus it seems that NaruSaku has reverted to being comic relief. Yet, there are some tender moments between the two. Yamato notes that when Sakura was healing Naruto after he rampaged in his four-tailed form that she has really deep feelings for Naruto, what he was going to say before Naruto woke up will remain forever a mystery (Note: Yamato has only ever seen Naruto and Sakura, he has never see how the original team seven interacts, as for as we know Yamato is completely unaware of Sakura's love for Sasuke or more correctly just how deep it goes beyond mere friendship). Sakura is constantly trying to protect Naruto, crying for him during the rescue Gaara arch because of her fear that the Akatsuki will come after him, understanding him a little bit better. (Note: Keep in mind neither Sakura nor Hinata will ever fully understand Naruto's pain of being a jinchuuriki. Hinata has a better grasp of it considering her father pretty much treated her like she was worthless. But Sakura won't.) Sakura even patted him on the face to snap him out of Itachi's genjutsu. After the Naruto defeated Kakuzu he was unable to eat well because he is right handed. Sakura offers to feed him and he gets all doe-eyed over it. Then Sai butts in and in the end Kakashi is feeding Naruto ramen. Once again NaruSaku is reverted to comic relief. Sakura always expresses concern for Naruto being reckless, again out of worry for him, yet again she tells him not to worry. While all this is touching... it comes off to me as very family-ish. Worried big sister telling reckless little brother to be less reckless and little brother assuring big sister not to worry.
9. Confession. Frankly one of my favorite parts in the manga, mainly because I love Hinata and the way Kishimoto draws her, and the fact it's rather epic. This also happens to be the biggest boost for NaruHina. So... Naruto is down on his luck, everything is looking hopeless when BAM! Hinata throws herself into a suicidal death-match with Pain! Hinata declares she won't let Pain hurt Naruto, Naruto tells Hinata to get out of here and that she can't win. She tells him she knows. She's just being selfish, Naruto is flummoxed and tells her so. Her reply: She wants to be here! She wants to protect Naruto, there is no sense of duty or obligation to do this other than her own personal feelings. She goes on to tell Naruto how his smile saved her and how before she was always screwing up and making mistakes. She says she was always chasing after him wanting to catch up, wanting to walk together forever with him and to be his side always. That Naruto changed her. His smiling face saved her and it's because of this that she's not afraid to die defending him. (Pain of course is unimpressed by all this). Hinata gets into the Hyuga juuken stance and declares her love for Naruto. (Big panel for those simple words). Naruto is baffled and Hinata charges, and gets struck down by pain. Naruto goes into six-tails mode and epic battle follows. That's pretty much it. I have nothing more to say.
On the NaruSaku front: Aaah... the Failfession... I mean, Sakura's confession. The fact that the entire chapter isn't really dedicated to Sakura telling Naruto she loves him (while Hinata's confession pretty much was the main highlight of the chapter. We get a few pages of Konoha in ruins, Team Guy, Shikamaru, and Hinata making her choice. Plus Hinata watching Naruto walk pass her is the chapter cover), is kinda odd and shows that Sakura's confession is more plot driven oppose to Hinata's which came from the heart. In fact we come in when she's repeating herself. The events that lead to this confession of hers is basically Sai guilt tripping her. Sasuke is declared a criminal and Naruto wants to stop revenge based wars and allows the cloud ninja to beat him up. Sai tells Sakura that Naruto is suffering from his promise to her, to bring back Sasuke. Sai also tells Sakura that Naruto really likes her (interesting how he doesn't say "love"). Sakura tells Sai to stop and that she will deal with Sasuke and Naruto. (Note: Sai has never known Sasuke or the fact that Sakura is in love with Sasuke. He's only ever interacted with Naruto and Sakura. So, like Yamato he's only seeing half of the entire emotional triangle between Team 7.) Sakura races after Naruto with Kiba, Sai and Lee. Now, Hinata was facing Pain when she confessed by she had her Byakugan active, which gave her a near 360 degree field of vision, so in a sense she was looking at Naruto. Sakura on the other hand (when she repeats herself) is looking towards the right (not meeting Naruto's gaze) has a shy/nervous expression with a slight blush. Like Hinata's confession it gets the entire upper half of the page. Clearly both confessions are important, but Sakura's feels forced... hollow.Naruto is at first shocked, confused, then... mad? He questions why Sakura is telling him this, even going to say if it's a joke, it isn't funny. Clearly he knows that Sakura never liked him in that manner, and has accepted that fact. (Everyone is confused too.) She goes on to try and convince Naruto that Sasuke doesn't mean anything to her (which sounds to me like she's trying to convince herself of the same thing). Saying nothing is going on, that she finally woke up that she can't be in love with a criminal and that she can separate fantasy from reality (funny, sounds like words more befitting an Uchiha). Naruto is more confused/angry, especially when Sakura tells him he can stop chasing Sauke. Clearly she has no idea what Sasuke means to Naruto himself, poor girl thinks Naruto is only doing this because she made him promise all those years ago. What Naruto says after this is interesting: "What happened to you, Sakura? You just suddenly start liking me?" (volume 50, pg 112) Sakura insists nothing has changed or happened and states why she fell in love with Naruto it should be obvious. Naruto has a reminiscent moment of all the the SasuSaku moments he's seen. Then Sakura hugs him! (by this point Kakashi has figured out Sakura's ruse and knows what she's planning and why she's doing this). Sakura goes on tell Naruto that Sasuke has only ever hurt her, and that Naruto stuck by here, cheered her up (I don't remember him cheering her up before, so maybe off camera) and that she finally saw his true self (looking all bashful as well). She goes on to say that he's the hero that defended the village and everyone loves him right now and that she's simply one of them. (That to me tells me her feelings aren't romantic but more familial/friendship). She got a front row seat in seeing Naruto change from a prankster to a hero, while Sasuke just kept breaking her heart and adding to his crimes becoming a stranger that she no longer recognizes (which brings up the question, did she ever understand Sasuke? Or Naruto for that matter?). She tells Naruto that she's able to be close to him like this, that he gives her comfort and right now from the bottom of her heart she truly cares (wait... I thought his was a love confession?) but Naruto pushes her away, angry and tells Sakura to quit it that the joke isn't funny. He's mad! Sakura's embarrassedly flummoxed. The girl tries to laugh it off saying she likes Sasuke better that women are fickle as autumn weather. Naruto's reply: I hate people who lie to themselves!
Note: I will say this. I have no doubt Sakura truly does love Naruto. Just not romantically. She loves him in the same manner I love my brother. Familial love
Now comes the next biggest battleground between NaruHina and NaruSaku. Kushina's final words to Naruto as a baby: "Don't fall for the first girl that comes your way, find someone like me." What did she mean? Find someone like she did, like Minato? Or find someone that's similar to her in personality. Naruto is littered with parallels. This probably the biggest. First let's set something straight. Taking Kushina's words face value: Sakura was the first girl Naruto was shown to have an interest in. (Don't fall for the first girl that comes your way) Hinata was the second girl that Naruto has an interest in. (Find someone like me.)
MinaKushi compared to NaruHina
Kushina and Naruto are very similar in personality. While Minato and Hinata aren't a perfect copy they are both "quiet types".
Kushina and Naruto both wanted to be Hokage because they both felt alienated by the village, Naruto because he was a jinchuuriki and Kushina because she was a foreign national (though she was happy as a jinchuuriki). Minato wants to be a well respected Hokage, Kishimoto never tells us Hinata's dreams but she probably wants her father's respect.
Kushina bet up people that teased her, Naruto pulled pranks, they both gained attention in negative ways. There is nothing for Minato or Hinata for this point since we no little about their relationship with others outside Kushina and Naruto, though Hinata cares for her team and Minato cared for Kakashi and his teammates.
Kushina and Naruto both had low opinions of Minato and Hinata. Kushina thought Minato was girly and undependable. Naruto thought Hinata was a world class freak that couldn't even look him in the eye and that she was shy. Their opinions eventually change.
Kushina hated her red Uzumaki hair. Naruto hated the fact he was seen as a screw-up. Minato though Kushina's hair was so pretty. Hinata admired the fact that even though Naruto screwed-up, he got back on his feet to try again. Minato and Hinata both admired Kushina and Naruto's less favorite quality about themselves.
Kushina was rescued by Minato from the Cloud ninja. Naruto was saved by Hinata from Pain and a Zetsu Clone.
Kushina ended up marrying Minato. It's to be seen if Naruto and Hinata end up with the same happy fate. The point though is that despite their differences both MinaKushi and NaruHina follow a very similar set up. Both had low opinions of their love interest, their love interest were both quiet types, their love interests also admired their least favorite character trait. And their love interest both saved them from something horrible.
MinaKushi compared to NaruSaku (now keep in mind, while comparing MinaKushi to any other pairings Naruto always fills Kushina's role. Since they both stated they are like each other. It's canon, it's fact.).
Kushina and Naruto are similar in personality. Minato is a quiet genius, Sakura isn't quiet but she is smart.
Kushina and Naruto both want to be Hokage because they felt alienated by the village. Minato wanted to become a respected Hokage, Sakura wants to marry Sasuke.
Kushina beat up people that teased her, while Naruto pulled pranks. Minato is pretty much unknown on how he interacted with people, but with Sakura we know that she was teased and cried alone later Ino defended her a lot, but she's also caring towards others as shown when she's healing the villagers.
Kushina had a low opinion of Minato, Naruto has a high opinion of Sakura.
Kushina hates her red Uzumaki hair, while Naruto hates the fact people view him as a screw-up. Minato loves Kushina's red hair, Sakura hasn't told Naruto she admires his never-say-die attituded (unless I missed the scene where she has, for that I apologize and that she has expressed such admiration).
Minato saved Kushina from the Cloud Ninja. Up to volume 64, Sakura hasn't saved Naruto. (Note: I read Naruto by the volume. My friend keeps me updated on what's going on. So, I'm aware of what's happening, but since I haven't read the chapter myself, I will not comment.) (Note 2: Sakura and Kushina's only similarity is that they are tsundere, though even that's weak since in Kushina's story her main love interest is Minato and she never once was shown beating him up. Sakura has punched Naruto many times.)
Clearly, Kushina means for Naruto find a partner like she did. A kind-hearted quiet type. Since that seems the best type for Naruto and Kushina's loud personalities. Sakura isn't a quiet type.
Conclusion: From volumes 1-53, there surely lots of evidence for both pairings, but the NaruHina has stronger emotional ties and subtle yet powerful build up to something grand. NaruSaku while emotional shows more the growth of bonds of friends and family oppose than actual love. Tomorrow I'll finish this up with the remaining volumes, (54-64). And after this I'll do one for SasuKarin.
Cheers!
-VT
PS: Do not bring up anything pass volume 64. Since I won't go off of second hand sources. Don't be rude. I didn't bash Sakura or NaruSaku (I could have). I will ignore you. If you want to comment/debate fine. I have proven my points up to volume 53. I use VIZ Media's English translation. Also, a note about pairing popularity. In Avatar: The Last Airbender the pairing Zutara (Prince Zuko/Katara) was arguable the most popular pairing in the series, while Kataang (Katara/Aang) was in second. In Japan, NaruSaku is more popular than NaruHina. Guys (on both sides), that means JACK FUCKING SHIT! If pairing popularity among fans meant anything to the creators then Zutara would've been canon and Kataang fanon, since it was clearly the more popular pairing. So don't go trying to prove canonization until you see those two words we love and hate so much: "THE END". This journal (and the others to follow) are just a display of evidence as how I see them (and others that support the pairing). I'm not saying NaruHina is canon, I'm simply saying that from where I'm standing despite everything in the last 64 volumes, NaruHina has a really good chance.

sorry for realllly late reply, but I am never on this account anymore.. Hardly on deviantart at all..
Too busy with work, so I will try and make my points, as quick as I can..
You pointed out very good points about Hinata showing feelings towards Naruto, ((except for sitting next to him, I mean tons of characters sat next to each other and talk to one another)) Anyways, you brought up good points of Hinata liking Naruto, but where does Naruto come in all this? Where does he show his "feelings of interest/love" for Hinata.
Yes the neji fight he had a new out look on her, but you might as well say the same for lee, with the gaara fight. At first he thought lee was a busy eye weirdo, but after lee being almost killed, naruto ran off and onto the battle stadium, to lee's side.
And thats naruto.. When each new character comes into the manga, he has a new outlook with them.. Thats why he usually makes friends with the bad guys..
Hinata admired Naruto from afar, and believe it or not but because of that trait, I used to be a naruhina fan.. But I soon realized, thats all she was doing... When Naruto was alone, she didnt bother going up to him, or when he was bullied, she didnt put any effort for stopping it ((not counting fillers)).. If she truly loved him and not a fan crush like sasusaku, she would of stuck up for him..Thats what you would do when you care for someone deeply..
Thats why you see naruto making speeches/sticking up for everyone, haku, hinata, lee, sasuke, it was because he cared for them, not caring what people thought of what he had to say..
Hinata's confession..
When she finally does something about it, instead of hiding in the shadows.. ((this could of been a naruhina turning point)) Yes Naruto does get all crazy, able to fight pein, but when everything turns alright and back to normal, we never hear from hinata ad her love for naruto again.. Not until the end..
Nejis death
I think the whole neji's death was just an excuse for naruhina to happen.. Neji saying to naruto to take care of hinata.. I mean come on.. Even after that, in the movie he forgets about her at the start and only was guilt tripped by a genjutsu ((but I dont count it, but just telling you that a filler movie cant get it right))
Hinata is too irrelevant
Hinata really didnt get that much time in the manga to develop anyway, so if she didnt get that much time.. How could she get enough time to develop anything with naruto?? How can you learn to love a pairing, when one of the characters is hardly in the manga..
The whole encouraging naruto before the fight, and giving him medicine, thats something that ino or sakura would done for sasuke.. I honestly just see naruhina as a one sided thing.. It could of been more, I admit to that..But kishi didnt bother with it, and instead teased everyone with other bullcrap..So if anything, blame kishi for the terrible development he made to naruhina..
However, I am not too pissed with naruhina, because it could of worked if kishi didnt rush the ending, or screw up the whole pein arch...
Sasusaku died along time ago and I dont bother believing that is any sort of any pairing..
p.s
I am not a narusaku fan..If I had a choice by end pairing, It would be narusasu ((thats it)) because the whole manga was naruto trying to get sasuke back.. And sasuke trying to find himself.. Also both had a strong connection, and were both together being alone..
I dont want to get into the narusasu evidence, because I will be here all day.. and I am suppose to be working right now XD

1. I don't ship SasuSaku, I use to then I fell out of favor with it. I ship SasuKarin.
2. The reason why I didn't include Neji's death into NaruHina or the NaruHina Handhold of vol. 64 is probably because I forgot, and (despite what Kishimoto has stated) I never once viewed Neji dying as a point for NaruHina. Neji died, blah, the end.
3. Naruto's side? He wanted Hinata to be proud of him when he defeated Neji in the Chuunin Exams (he even said "Is Hinata watching?") so clearly her opinion of his victory or her approval of his victory mattered to him. After the Rescue Gaara arch, he seeks Hinata and her teammates out to help him find Sasuke, so he clearly knows she and her teammates are skilled tracking ninja. Naruto was stuck with Hinata during Rescue Sasuke Arch Take 2. Naruto was relieved when Mini Katsuyu on his shoulder told him Hinata was okay after he rampaged as Kurama. That was the first person he thought of us the girl that risked her life for him. He told Hinata that she was always being too hard on herself, that she was strong and he knew that because it was all in her eyes. Naruto wanted to run to Hinata after the Infinate Tsukuyomi took hold.
5. I don't count The Last as canon. It's bullshit. NaruHina be damned. There was enough evidence in the manga for them to be together.
6. NaruSaku is Kataang's ninja cousin. NaruSaku is too much like siblings. They'd never work romantically.
7. Kishi made a special point to stick Naruto next to Hinata in the first Round of the Chuunin Exams. He could've stuck him next to Sasuke or Temari. But he stuck him next to Hinata, and made a point of having Naruto and Hinata engage in dialogue. Naruto even turned Hinata down, saying that she was nice and all for allowing him to cheat off her paper, but he's a man and didn't want her to get in trouble.
8. I'm sorry you find Hinata irrelavent. She's irrelavent to the overall plot, but as far as Naruto himself goes, she's important. Whenever he's at his lowest point, she is there to pick him back up: Before he fights Neji, when he's pinned down by Pain, and when Neji dies in his arms. Three major points in his life, when Kishi could've EASILY put Sakura in (or Sasuke for that matter), but instead he gave the honor to Hinata. The girl that had always loved him from the sidelines, too afraid to act upon it and wanting her family's approval and thus she stayed away (it's the only logical answer if you think about it). And in contrast he's there to pick her back up at her lowest points as well.
9. SasuNaru is based off of Kishimoto's relationship with his twin brother. Again, Familial love.
10. I could just end this idiocy by saying "HA! NaruHina's canon! Deal with it!"
11. I think chapter 700 as a timeskip chapter was unneccisary since 699 ended the entire series rather nicely with Naruto and Sasuke recounciling and everything. All the goals were achieved expect Naruto becoming Hokage, but overall it was nice conclusion, in my opinion. 700 felt like the epilogue of HP 7. Book 3: Fire of Avatar: The Last Airbender was rushed.

The ending is typical and overused for one..
Honestly, it's like something a fanfic writer created, but it's in a real anime......
I haven't seen every single episode of Naruto, but what I came to know it as in my childhood and everything about that made me fall in love with it... was kinda ruined.
Naruto turned into a Mary Sue, end point. Sasuke got all kinds of favoritism. I don't like or hate Sakura, but her character got shitted on.. The ending was just... shit, like fans just expected so much better, and it just seems pretty obvious. I mean come on...

So was Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Everything ended happily and the sense of loss was never emphasized.
Edward gave up his alchemy for no reason despite there being other ways to get Al's back. Bradley was venerated as hero despite his atrocities and the Amestrian government remained a military dictatorship along with the soldiers were never held responsible for the massacre in Ishval. Winry contribution as a mechanic was vital but she was a victim being used as a hostage by the Homunculi and nearly being killed when Father absorbed God. The proposal was funny but the fact Edward was leaving to study alchemy disconcerted me. He resents Hohenheim for leaving the family but does it himself despite having no alchemy. Making his fiance wait so he can satisfy his desire to travel was selfish.

As a NaruHina fan, I was actually ready to accept NaruSaku as the official couple (not that I was gonna like it of course) when Sakura made her "confession". But looking back, even without the fillers, Hinata was the person who was there for Naruto in his darkest hours at least three times:
1. Right before the start of the Chunin exam finals, he was unsure about being able to defeat Neji. It's worth to note that in this scene, Naruto felt comfortable enough with Hinata to be sincere about how he really felt, something unusual for him at the time (and I never saw him do the same with anybody else, not even Sakura).
2. When Pain had him pinned to the ground with the chakra rods, Hinata jumped in to save him, even fully aware that she could end up dead, and directly confessed that she was willing to put her life on the line because she loved him. It's just that Naruto didn't understand that Hinata meant that she loved him in the ROMANTIC sense until The Last. Furthermore, Naruto went into an unstoppable rage when it seemed Pain had killed her just to spite him, showing that even then Naruto did care for Hinata as someone important to him.
3. When Obito killed Neji, Naruto was right on the edge of falling completely into despair, and it was Hinata who brought him back. And she had to muster a lot of strength to do so, keep in mind she had just suffered the death of her cousin, who at that point had become more like a brother to her, to prevent the person she loved from falling into the darkness.
Few moments, that's for sure, but arguably the most important ones. Also, the Hiden novels show some development in their relationship, Naruto and Hinata actually start getting closer to each other after the war (people who suffer tragedies together tend to form strong bonds in the aftermath, in this case we could say Neji's death might have been the strongest catalyst), but they take until The Last to officially begin as a couple because Naruto didn't fully understand love in the romantic sense (mostly due to growing up alone and friendless), and even in real life sometimes it takes time and events like those for someone who realize that they're in love with another person.

Haru and Ellie= Many scenes together showing the attraction were returned on both ends and had many more moments of them interacting with each other that showcased not only Haru's Badass credentials, but Ellie's as well. That, and Ellie wasn't sidelined for 85% of her screen time.
Ed and Winry= Same reason as above. Many scenes with them together, including a mess of flashbacks that showed them as childhood friends. Their relationship greatly develops over the course of the story, and even if she isn't in every arc, she is still a very important character, not only as the only person who can fix Ed's automail, but as a remind that he and Al have something to come back to. Winry is also her own character outside of Ed. She has her own desires and goals that really don't involve Ed too much.
Naruto and Hinata= Hinata shows up about 30-40 times outhouse the story, and has a very little impact on the plot or Naruto himself. Their interactions lie between 12-15 times, and most of the time, the two never have a full back and forth conversation(I believe it only happened three times). Hinata's character basically revolves around Naruto and nothing more. She adopts his nindo....but does nothing with it. She says she wants to get stronger, but we see almost nothing to show her newly developed strength. That, and the attraction between the two is(was) one sided. They lack chemistry, effort and investment. NH is a poorly writer rushed relationship.
That's why folks are upset with the ending....that, and it created more plot holes, forced other people together just to make (annoying) kids, derailed or ignored basically everyone else, and showed no real change within the shinobi systems.
And it was nothing more than a cheap cash grab.

You...didn't read this, did you? Just because I like a character doesn't mean I won't point out any issues I have with them,
Yes, I liked Hinata. No, I don;t really care for NH. Yes, I would have liked some more development for both, No, I am not pleased with the ending.
NH lacks chemistry, but even if they did have some decent chemistry, if Hinata never branched out as a character, than what is the point? That's my issue here.
TLR; I bare no ill will towards Hinata. I just wanted her to grow as a character before she makes any attempted to try and hook up with Naruto.

Because they didn't show enough love story for NaruHina. It was too rushed for the audience to be pleased. I'm a die hard NaruHina fan myself but even with the last Naruto movie it pissed me off how Naruto JUST now considers Hinata's feelings to the point of wanting to start a relationship (yes I get that there was too much going on before with the whole war happening etc. ) but he still should have answered her confession after the fight with Pain!!! That was the moment we've been dieing for! But instead he greets all his fellow team mates and ninjas of the village which wouldn't be a big deal if he would atleast look for Hinata after words. But I can't complain too much as the author originally wasn't going to pair Naruto up with anyone in the first place. As it wasn't a big part of his story (plus he stated he wasn't good at romance) So I admire his effort in pleasing the fans but most importantly taking the time to make the anime dynamic! & there were plenty fan fictions (non sexual!) that was highly satisfying. ...it'd be cool if one would've been made part of the anime. Maybe we can encourage this idea to another anime. Wow did not plan to say so much 😅

I see it precisely the other way around.
The Last made it WORSE, despite how much NaruHina it was.
If it happened right after Kaguya, it'd be perfect - but that dumb two-year-long time skip ruined it entirely.
Dunno, but THIS shows that Kishi WAS planning on NaruHina way in the beginning.

Well, I meant immediately after the NaruSasu bro-fight, lol.
Just one extended chapter of NaruHina (and SasuSaku, ya know) DATING would've been just fine.
Maybe just a couple pages for each.
ONE page for each?
ONE SINGLE PANEL FOR BOTH???
ANYTHING, instead of "let's forget each other for ANOTHER TWO YEARS - and even THEN let's make Hinata STILL be insecure as fuck", even though she had moments like 559, 615 and 629, let alone 437.
Kishi SUCKS, really.
Additionally, it would've made 9000 times more sense for Hinata HYUUGA (aka The Byakugan Princess) to join the Kaguya OOTSUTSUKI fight, instead of Suckura Clanlessuno (aka The Tag-Along Side-Kick That Sucks).
Either Kaguya was weakened 9000 times by Plot-no-Jutsu (is this even a question, ya know), or it simply didn't make any sense for mere "Hagoromo's Power Level (COMBINED)", without ANY input on Hamura's side, to defeat her so easily (a one-hit-win, really).
Kishi SUCKS, AGAIN.

Yes, it is. At least I know a well-written manga when I see one.
I simply cannot understand how anyone could think Naruto is better than Full Metal Alchemist. The characters of FMA are more believable and relatable, it deals with complex issues like forgiveness and redemption in a much more mature way (instead of Naruto's idiotic "let's just forgive and forget"), and the story has much less plot holes.
So no, I'm not the one deluded here.

Okay and fictional books, but 90% comes from watching Anime. (In fact, if you look deep inside my mind, you'll find a cute Anime version of myself. She has shoulder length, less bushy black hair, and brown eyes, like me in RL. XD.)
I would love to buy the dvds but at my FYE store it costs $60 or more just to get a good DVD. And I am VERY picky when it comes to selecting an Anime DVD. I need to make sure it's something that I really want.
I'd like to think of myself as someone who is sort of a careful shopper, sometimes. I don't go insane on shopping. XD. Low priced coffee, and food yes.
Expensive Anime/games, no.
I can't believe Anime fans are killing something they love. I had no idea I was killing it too.
It's just the pricing needs to go down, and then maybe I will buy something.
