You know what would be even cooler for fan works, especially fanfiction and fanart of the shows and films we love? If a fan work gets adapted into a full-length fan film adaptation, or a series for that matter. The best part, is that the possibilities are endless. Nothing will stop you from turning fanworks into fanfics. Sure, it might get risky because of copyrights, work time and budget, but it won't be impossible. Choose any fanfic you've read and try your best to adapt it (as long as you have permission from the writer of the original fic). Also you can adapt your own idea for a fanfic into a fanfilm. You start with a script and/or storyboard to see how your vision for directing a fanfilm/fanseries will pull off. You can make it even longer or shorter. If you really want the adaptation to look professional like Blue Core's Megaman fanfilm or any of Corridor Digital's videos, you can always do a campaign on either Kickstarter, Patreon or indiegogo. When you are done with it, you can show it to the world (as long as you are avoiding copyright claims and give credit to the original owners) on the Internet or in any conventions.
I thought it would be impossible for a fanfic or fanart to be adapted into television or film theatres, since fan works are meant to be for fans by fans and it should not be forced upon the original creator of any franchise. Which it would suck since my ships in My Little Pony, Star vs., Gravity Falls, and even Aphmau's ( ) MyStreet weren't canon and fans cannot bash the original creators for their ships not being canonized, and not even fanfics can fix the canon that sunk the ships. And some people find it hard to visualize while reading a fanfic, since imaginations are invisible. But I realized that if the original crew or a plethora of professional filmmakers/TV showmakers can't do it, maybe the fans can adapt a fan work/headcanon/AU of theirs into their own fanfilm.
So, fanfics and fanart are not impossible to be adapted into film and series. It makes people like me, very easier to feel like our ship is canon and enjoy it or to make something even better. Even if it's unofficial.
