People, who demand to sources cited or evidence presented, usually don't look at it when you provide it. They'll either throw a fit of moving goal posts, denial, and cognitive dissonance, or you'll never hear from them again. When I just got out of the military, some people who leaned right had a hard time believing some of my conspiracy theories, but at least a few of them came back and said "Know what, bro? You were right about XYZ." But now, people, not because they are young and liberal, per se, but because they have invested their self worth into the mainstream media, are the most guilty of this. They're whole self worth is simply not being a right winger, and their definition of right wing is to take the side of the establishment media. Even if that media is plutocratic and warmongering, their whole worth, their whole belief system, will become fluid to be in harmony with the establishment, because the only thing worth living for is sticking it to rightwingers, even if the "rightwingers" are really populists of all types and what's "progressive" is really just pro establishment. I used to be conservative. Now I'm a moderate. I've never been closer to being an old school democrat, but things that would have been seen as historically progressive are now, in a round about way, called right wing. Being (generally) anti war, being pro worker, pro small business, and being anti establishment used to be left wing positions. Now the left wing position is stick it non stop to right wingers, who are defined as anyone who questions the system, even if they are a minority.
