Description
The design sheet for the character "Cornfed", from the LIVEWIRES miniseries that I wrote and laid out (and occasionally drew) for Marvel back in 2004-2005. Some symmetry problems with that close-up at lower right, but what the hell...(Side note: Gee, look, sketches of a big, husky dude... This won't do much for my pageviews, needless to say.)
Marvel minutiae department: The "REAL A.I.M." patch on his jumpsuit is a reference to an extremist splinter group that separated from the original Advanced Idea Mechanics in protest that AIM had lost its way/ gone soft/ sold out... Much in the same way that the real-world "Real I.R.A." splintered off from the Irish Republican Army, or at least that's the vague impression I was trying to convey.

I loved this series even for its brevity. I actually hoped to see more but at the point it ended, I feel that everything that needed to be said was laid out.
Still, I guess its Firefly Syndrome, You always want to see more of a good thing, y'know?

For some reason, I can see the brother from My Name is Earl, playing this character in a live action version (Sad to never see anything like that come out) It's a shame the series didn't take off, it had the makings of something great!

Cornfed was prolly my favorite character out of Livewires, and considering how much I enjoyed all of the characters . . . His character design and personality were both fairly pleasing. To me anyway.
And as for your pageviews, well, there's a sizable audience on DevArt who'll probably appreciate Cornfed's stockier size, myself included.
BTW, I was sorry to read about the lack of future Livewires. Everyone I know who's read it wants to see more. Oh, well.

Some variety is fine, too! I too have macho action dudes among the hot warrior chicks that dominate my own gallery!
Cool design work as always man; the sense of bulk carries through very well.
