Just the right moment as he is climbing out of the pot.
Please don't mind my saying this, because I am sure you are very careful, but budgies can get into some very small tight spaces, spaces we big humans would never even think would be possible to go into. Please keep an eye on these precious budgies when they are out of the cage exploring. (I once knew of one that got stuck in a paper towel roll, and couldn't turn around in it... Fortunately her human was close by so all ended well. )
