Description
Here I have created a portrait of the popular video game character Super Mario
In order to create this drawing I drew inspiration from the various art styles used to create the characters in Disney animated movies
My goal was to create a design for Mario that was at least somewhat reminiscent of the design used in Disney's productions
although I was trying to create something new that deviated from the standard Mario design
I felt it was very important that I stick closely to the source material and keep the distinctive defining features that Mario has consistently been seen with

In my opinion this drawing is definitely not perfect but the important thing is I am happy with the result
I decided this time to keep the shading simple and minimal because I feel I am currently not very good at shading
I was amazed at how much difference a small amount of shading could make in creating a sense of immersion realism
