Description This is an updated version of my fantasy world map.

Elyria is the main continent of the world with the same name. It is the setting where all major events happen in the story. The land is reminiscent to medieval Europe, and it borrows from other works of fantasy that I myself really enjoy, such as Game of Thrones.

The setting is high fantasy with elements of magic, and a variety of non-human creatures. It is set in a medieval-eques period, with kings and knights and feudal based ruling systems.

Storyline:

Elyria is a large continent home to a plethora of minor kingdoms united and ruled under the province of the Anavian Empire. The land ruled by the Anavians was known as Solarion, which in the Anavian language means "Land of The Sun". For thousands of years, the empire has fought many wars of expansion, primarily to spread their religion. Though a lot of land and glory was gained in the process, the Anavians have also suffered many defeats and losses which led to the near destruction of their empire and nation. There are nine nations that rule the land; eight of which are considered minor nations ruled under the might of the Anavian Empire.

Anglion:

A small island kingdom located near the coast of the north-east region of the continent. They are a productive country, a fast supplier of ships and fish. Anglion is also known as Lion Isle, because of it's dense population of lions. For a large portion of it's history, Anglion was an isolationist kingdom due to the policies of the country's first king Richard Brahmwell.

Sigmar:

Sigmar is considered to be a military superpower, with more than twenty-thousand troops in it's army. Being the most dominant of the minor realms, Sigmar often receives the most military requests from the Anavian emperor. However, Sigmar too has experienced their fair share of defeats and losses.

Gall:

Gall is a completely miserable place to live. It's cold winters and barbaric culture are a deadly combination. Gall was formerly Sigmarian territory, until the house of Stone of Brittlehold rebelled against the ruling Godwin family. So these two kingdoms have bad blood.

Ereleand:

Ereleand is the agricultural giant of the empire, holding the most fertile lands of the continent. Commonly referred to as "The Breadbasket Kingdom", Ereleand produces nearly a quarter of all the food in the realm. Their food productivity attracts many merchants and traders, and Ereleand would become one of the wealthiest kingdoms of the land.

Cloyster:

Cloyster is a land of hills and valleys. The quality of life is highly rated here, even with the common folk living comfortable lives. Cloyster is one of the most peaceful kingdoms other than Anglion, and are openly friendly towards other cultures. However their friendliness and unfortunate position make them vulnerable to invasion.

The Dragon Vale:

A mountainess region of the continent inhabited by Dragons. The Dragon Vale is by far the most dangerous kingdom; it's population even live in subterranean cities built in large underground caverns just to avoid the Dragons.

Braremond:

Braremond is made up of plains and mountains along it's east coast. This kingdom shared close ties with Sigmar and experienced some minor conflict with Anglion as they attempted to expand into other lands for the first time. However Sigmar and Braremond crushed the invading forces, and the island kingdom never attempted an invasion ever again.

Leon:

Leon is the smallest kingdom of the continent and shares borders with the Anavian empire. After years of warring, the Anavians eventually made peace with the Nordens by intermarrying and forming the house of Argoneon. It is a culturally diverse country, a melting pot with both Anavians and Nordens living together in the same territory.

The Anavian Empire:

A great and ancient civilization that began with the construction of the city of Anavio. Once a small city state, the Anavians built a giant empire as they spread their newly founded religion into foreign lands. However the maintenance of their empire was challenged when a race of men known as the Nordens invaded the continent crossing the North Sea. The northern region of the continent was now under Nordish rule, and the Anavians maintained control in the south. Known as the Land of The Sun, The Anavians worship the sun as their god.

Random facts about the story:

- Before the arrival of humans on the continent, the land was populated by the Elyrians and the Ones of Wood. The Elyrians are modeled after typical fantasy elves from Tolkien's world of Middle Earth, and the Ones of Wood are essentially Halflings/Hobbits.
- Humans are the dominant species on the continent. The Elyrians and the Ones of Wood live in hiding behind a concentric chain of mountain ranges known as "The Ring".
- Before humans moved in and conquered everything, the Elyrians once ruled the whole continent in a vast empire ruled by one king. Many of the remaining Elyrians want to keep the peace and remain in their domain within The Ring. However some want to take back the continent and regain their former glory.
- The World of Elyria is greatly inspired by Lord of The Rings and Game of Thrones.
- The Anavian Empire shares many similarities with the Roman Empire, and the Nordens are very much like the Germanic tribes that sacked Rome and caused the downfall of the western Roman Empire.
