Description Crikey! Here we see a wild croc god in its natural habitat, striding thru the Faiyum during the wet season.

Let's go poke him with a stick!

Or don't, actually, as Sobek was the Crocodile God for good reason. Tick him off, and you turn into dinner.

A god of power, fertility, and freshwater, Sobek was amongst the more popular gods of Egypt. At his temple in Crocodilopolis, tamed Nile Crocodiles were treated like...well, like gods. They were fed the best food, washed by hand, and when they died, were mummified so they would protect the deceased.

Sobek was one of the gods who controlled the Nile floods as well as a protector of the Sun God, Ra. Sobek was the father of all freshwater, and his...lets just call it bodily fluids...formed the life-giving rivers, lakes, and swamps of the world. Yuck.
