Description
Today I found this tiny red-and-black beetle on an old, already matured puffball (maybe Lycoperdon pratense). It is the fungus beetle Lycoperdina succincta, I found it for the first time near my homeplace. The larvae are developing withing these fungi and also overwinter here as adults.Hungary, 2024.02.19.
