for macro lens, I would personally recommend to pay more attention on the lights & background
which lens you bought? cuz I am also looking to get one

oh, my camera is an slr hybrid kinda thing. It doesn't have interchangeable lenses, so I had to buy an adapter tube. Then I just bought a 52mm +8 macro lens. It's been a blast using so far.
