I mean, imagine that it's a few years or so after Lincoln's death, and his room would probably be off limits. Lily, who would be around 4 or so, could potentially get into the room and come upon pictures of her brother. Perhaps she would ask one of her sisters who this boy was. It would be devastating having to explain to little Lily who this boy was as they wouldn't want to relive the traumatizing memories of his passing.
