Nice work as usual Almight; however, the more I see of the Shin-Goji design the less I like it. I really cant get past the stick figure arms/hands - he couldn't fight anything with those!

To be clear I have nothing against ShinGoji the character / movie. I'm very excited to see it in about a month. That being said my comments where directed at the aesthetic design of Shin. There are many issues i have with the design, the arms being one of the biggest and a I believe a completely valid reason to dislike it. I will clarify my thoughts on things I dislike about Shin Godzilla's design for you:
1) The Arms: They are weak and frail looking. I like my godzilla strong and powerful (which shin mostly is), but its arms do not contribute to that feel. I also like Godzilla to go mono et mono with other kaiju and it would be difficult with those weak arms. The arms say to me, I'm only a threat to humans, which is disappointing.
2) The Split Jaw: This seams very anime and less practical. And creates, to me, a similar weak impression as the arms. I want big strong jaws (to be honest I dislike this about most godzilla designs), not T-Rex level, but powerful. The split jaw is not desgined for tough kaiju v kaiju battles which, as previously mentioned, is disappointing to me.
3) Feet: Shin has the typical big, powerful godzilla legs, but then it as skinny little chicken ankles (yes a bit of hyperbole there). I realize the big G doesn't have to comply with the square-cube-law, but it just breaks my sense of immersion and design continuity.
4) Exposed skin(/): Overall the exposed skin areas make shin look a bit like a zombie / broken creature to me. I'm fine with the tortured skin, but the exposed tissue/muscle adds to the look of weakness to me. Not a big issue for me, but it adds up with 1, 2 & 3 to underscore the overall design feel of weakness.
So JaketheDino, does that help clarify my thoughts? Can you clarify why you think it is "dumb" to dislike the design because of the arms.

Let me ask you something. Do you know this new Godzilla's origins? Because I know why he looks like that. I know why he looks like an abomination. And it's even been said that this incarnation of Godzilla is the strongest. That was said by the director I believe.

its not really the strongest either. it may be harder to kill but that is at the cost of physical resistance to harm. also the Legendary godzilla could easilly kill it in a vampiric sense. it consumes radiation so it would simply feed off of he shin godzilla until its unable to sustain any cellular activity.

That....is actually a pretty accurate way of describing it. However, because of Shin’s laser breath, I would find it difficult for Legendary to resist such a weapon

Yes, without having actually seen the movie, I am familiar with the origins of ShinGoji. I have seen most, if not all, of the you-tube clips of the actual footage and seen and read several reviews.
Like I said, my comments do not have anything to do with the character of Shin Goji or the movie itself. The in-fiction justification for why it generally looks the way it does is fine (though they give no explanation for the arms, ankles, split-jaw as far as I've heard). That is not what I am discussing.
My comments where simply on the aesthetics of the design itself. Not the in-fiction explanation for the design. Yes, I understand it is "strongest" in terms of its actual size and the damage it can produce (though Final Wars might have an argument) within the fiction of the godzilla universe. However, it doesn't "look" the strongest - that is partially my point.

Well looks can be deceiving. Look at Gollum from LOTR. He looks so frail yet physically, he's a lot stronger than he looks.
I understand that that's your opinion and I have nothing against it. I just want people to give the film a chance before judging.
Look at Batfleck. People thought he'd suck but he managed to be one of the best things about BvS

As I have stated many times, I am not judging the movie I am commenting on the design of Shin. The aesthetic design only. I am not judging the book by its cover, I am judging the cover by itself.
I am personally looking forward to see the movie next month.
