MythologyThe Magic Markings Dust is more of a Dr.Seuss kind of thing than a mythology thing but hey, I guess I could mention the significance of certain patterns in mythology. In ancient Egypt, if a bull was born with a specific set of markings attributed to the bull god Apis, it would be brought to a temple, given a harem and worshipped as a divine incarnation. Its mother would also be worshipped. In Zulu tribes in Africa, more detailed patterns represent wealth and influential families, while other patterns (such as zigzags or diamonds or a combination of these) represent gender and marital status.
