I dont have time to keep answering the same questions over and over again >_< I will be updating this journal entry as time goes on. Feel free to add a question in the comments section and I will try to answer it. ------------------- BASICS What are these dolls? They are BJD - ball jointed dolls. If you search Google with those keywords you will get plenty of results with companies and other info about them. This is the Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball-jointed_doll. Also this LJ answers some questions too http://bjd-wtf.livejournal.com . If you want to learn more, I would suggest Den of Angels forum (http://www.denofangels.com/forums/). Do you make them? I am sorry I've never owned a Luts doll so I have no idea about the differences of the bodies. You might want to check DoA or some other BJD related forum or even Flickr or Facebook.

Hey there, I've read your videos and such but I'm actually attempting my own faceup, and was curious what colors you use for flesh tones on a natural skin MNF.
I have the smallest set of pastels and only have red, a peach, orange, and a tanish color.
The red is working great for the eye area (tear duct) but I'm worried about the cheeks and lips.
Thanks in advance AndrejA. (:

Can't say I've really ever seen a BJD collector/artist be so thorough in explaining so much about this hobby and art form. Thank you so much for putting it all together.

You definitely would not want to use the 'paint/glue' version. no one wants brush strokes on a lovely face-up! As for the spray version, I've heard it remains sticky for a long time and can peel away easily if the surface is not clean enough, which is not good for the face-up, and it doesn't have a decent 'tooth' for pencils or pastels which is not good for applying the face-up. I've also heard it leaves a bit of a gloss finish, which typically is not desired in a face-up.
You can try it, everything I've heard implies that it won't hurt the resin (or vinyl, if you have a Dollfie Dream) so you can just remove it if it leaves behind undesirable results.
