So the sneak peek sketch that i published in my -Early access- folder is DONE!
Eventhough i love my main Ferkat style, sometimes it can get really complicated to get every tiny detail, pose and angle straight. Ive been thinking of making a simplified version of my style for a short while, making up ideas in my mind until i couldnt take it anymore and grabbed the pen.
I usually test new stuff on my other OC Darvon, for some reason it became my tradition but in this case, i just wanted to see how one of my main characters would rock the simplified style, so Nizzy it was

The main thing that i was aiming for was to simplify the style itself, not the coloring, which i only embrace therefore the coloring is basically same i used when working on Mary's info picture.
What i focused on was the type of outlining, shapes and skipping neccessary details. And so i went for thicker outline, which gave the style more cartoony look, shapes and folds are not as complicated and lesser amount than in my main style, also a little bit sharper at some specific parts, like calves, feet or shading of hair around his cheeks. I also skipped the face mask, though it is a big part engaged in my style, this style seems to rock it even without it. But because the mask played a big role in facial expressions, i simply added eyebrows which will help the needed expressions AND is easier to use than the mask!
One specific thing that changed especially in Nizzy's case are his ears. While i draw ears of other characters more...dimensional(?), Nizzy's ears were always drawn in quite a flat shape, therefore here his ears got a little depth to fit the style.
I also always loved styles where characters have limbs wider at wrists and ankles, so thats what i aimed for here as well, though i still have to figure out how to do so with characters that are buff, like adult Nizzy, Darvon, Lupus etc

As for the coloring, im still playing with the newly learned skills, improving the way of cel shading, gradient and also types of eye coloring. You can notice how Nizzy's eyes are slightly differently colored than Mary's, for example. Outline of her eyes is still black while in Nizzy's case the outline matches the color of his eye color. Plus some tiny additional shine.

Guess thats it for describing this simplified version of my Ferkat style. I plan to draw some other of my characters in this way just to see how to work with the style further. Not sure if i will have strenght to color them all, if any of them, after spending all my energy on Nizzy here and still having another project unfinished, so probably just expect some sketches
