Description When I was painting Blue Heaven I restricted myself to using one brush in painter. For a different look I now used many tools in painter IX and photoshop cs2. I enjoyed the long process of this image very very much. I also had fun hunting for reference material arond town with my camera. I like the symbolism in this one amd I can't wait to start another piece. I thought I'd have more to say here but right now my head is so empty. Feel free to ask anything and please go see the DETAILS in my scrap-book. I might update this description later.
I edited the hand a bit because it was too long and I had a typo in the description. Thank you all.

utterly breathtaking.

I too love combining what I can achieve using Painter along with Photoshop.
The foliage is very well done, did you create brushes for that?

Great piece. I must fave.

GUH. 'Beautiful' does not even BEGIN to describe this.

Sadly, I didn't need more Dungeons and Dragons inspiration, but lo and behold...

Can you tell me how you created the patterns in the foliage?

Once again, you amaze me. And the time it took really paid off. I wouldn't have the patience for something like that.

I made several brushes with different kinds of leaves in pscs2 myself, I must admit that I was very tempted to download some brushes but now I feel better that they're all mine. There are many tutorials online on how to make brushes and I think that the brush creator is really self explanatory and easy to use. Thank you so much for liking my art. [link] that's just one of them. I went over the foliage with eraser and brush to add variety and then I added the highlights while working with color jitter to avoid a flat look.

Wow. I could say all the same things as everyone else and so I shall try not to. I could analyze your work in the rock detail forever. The lilypads are very well done and so soft, and if I take what Juuhanna wrote about the woman's name being Lily then they're almost a serene touch. As for the character, she's gorgeous. You've made a stunning piece, Sir, and I've never been able to comprehend how images like this are done. I've neither the knowledge of Painter or Photoshop and therefore neither the patience to learn. And I'm too stubborn to read the damn lessons. So bravo to you, I admire what you've done. ^_^

I have to be honest with you here: I find it very difficult to comment on your pictures.
Either I say 'oo pretty me likey', or I analyze the picture too much and write a pile of what I fear you'll define as a rubbish. The way all your pictures have symbolism and personal thoughts and meanings that I know nothing about make me fear I'll say something really stupid. But I'll try my best okay? We can laugh at me together if I say something really stupid.

First of all, I hope to see a larger version of this someday because I want to take a closer look at the pretty pattern on her dress. It doesn't show well in DA-size.
I bet there's overall a million interesting little things in this that I just can't see (which is a shame).
You've started to do better with drawing and painting faces during past year or so, and seems like you're getting better all the time; and I gotta say kudos especially about the nose 'cause we both know those are difficult to paint realistically.
Lily looks so different without bangs! It's not a bad thing, although bangs suit her too. From what I've seen I think her overall look has changed slowly from the coffee filter paper-masked woman she was in the beginning to less aggressive look.
I'm glad you got good reference pictures for the koi-fish, you've done nice job with making it look like the water is natural pond-water instead of clean tap-water, and the fish actually look like they're in the water. The leaves and dirt on the surface add to the natural look.
The hand-drawing homeworks have also been good to you. ;D You've always drawn good hand-poses but you've seem to have taken a step towards even better foreshortening, poses and anatomy.

I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed making this image so much; I was worried that maybe you were having an art-slump because you didn't make new art in such long time. But it was well worth the wait.

INSANE, the level of detail to it! Wonderful

If this were a print, I'd put it on the Wishlist (and I don't even have one yet)
