OMG, I am not dead! Finally a new fan art pic!Characters from Petshop of Horrors by Matsuri Akino.
Leon does clean up very well. For the FFVII fans, Leon kind of looks like the lovechild of Cid and Reno, and acts like one too most of the time!

The Korean version? How interesting! Do you speak/read Korean? Must be wonderful. One of my friends bought a German version of one of the volumes when she went abroad several years ago. I personally don't own any manga that are in a language I can't read. Haha, regardless of aesthetic, I can't convince myself to spend money on something I can't read.

I am Korean-American. I was born in Seoul and moved to the US as a kid. English is actually my second language. I bought the manga when I was working at a Korean animation studio, about 1998...woo boy that was a long time ago! XD
I have a bunch of Japanese manga and art books that I can't read, but back when I bought them English translations were hard to come by. Nowadays the big US bookstores are full of translated manga. The Korean translated versions are still cheaper though, so I end up buying those when I can.

That makes a lot of sense. And it's cool that your Korean-American. About a year ago I was OBSESSED with the K-Pop group DBSK and watched tons of music videos, talkshows, and interviews online. Needless to say, I became quite familiar with the way spoken Korean sounds and found it incredibly beautiful.

Ahh, lovely, lovely art here!The coloring is so smooth..I am so jelly. :3 But wow, how were you able to get those dragon symbols there? They're legit. All in all, this picture (of my favorite manga, no less) is really great. Great color combinations, all around AWESOME-ness is at a maximum 100%~~!

Thanks! The dragon symbols are from a stock art resource CD. Dover Publications has a whole line of those things. I actually made that background few years back for something else and just recycled it.

Ah, I see. Well, recycling is good! I say choosing to recycle this background was a good idea, since it fits with your foreground image well. Yes, that's what I like most about this deviation; flow. Most artists, when creating a picture, might not give a lot of thought to the background but usually the background can be the single most important part that make or breaks a good deviation. But you got that already. So I don't need to tell you that this is on my favs and is going to be one art piece that I'm going study and learn well from.
