Placonyx are decendents of Osteotheirs. They have taken up the niche of small, generalist scuttling creatures, the niche of rats and other rodents. They use their flattened pedipalps to crack open seeds and other tough foods. They live in the shadow of their distant cousins the Hexapodians, but given the chance these adaptable creatures may surpase their relatives.
