What a beautiful image. Great expression, the character's expression is so calm and rather annoyed. Great use of color, the pale colors in your figure stand off very well against the darker ones in the background. Beautiful anatomy and emotion to this. I am very fond of your style, I will have to look though some more of your works. Just lovely, thank you for sharing.

I can't believe how you keep amazing me, all of us really... I'm blown away. I really like this more cartoony style too!
By the way, that very subtle line under her left eye makes her look so very very tired! Was that intentional? Because at first glance she looks healthy enough, but the more you stare at her face, the darker the skin under her eyes seem, and the more tired and weary she looks... kind of a modern Mona Lisa we have here!

Its all been said before but I'll say it all again. This is gorgeous! The background is fantastic, the details and textures in that totally make this image for me. I dont know why, but its really unique and something I havent seen a lot of, so I think it stands out^_^
Also I really adore the dangling birds, such awesome little details!

this is what i like to see...actual use of talent! none of the art around here anymore seems to be more done by the artist, to much it seems its all done by the render program or by using a total amount of varieties and techniques(even my own work). This stands as much more than an elequent artform man! this demands respect!

for an experimental image that looks amazing
her hair is probably one of my favorite things about this image, I just love how it looks like feathers and I love how her eyes look animeish and at the same time have so much realism to them. the texture on the tracks and the rocks just look amazing.
The only thing that I really feel needs a little work is her elbows, they look a little too pointy :/

I appreciate that you describe what tools you're (not) using
Most of the colours and shading is excellent...
However, her hair is casting much shade in the face, but not any on her arms underneath the head.
And finally, her upper left arm seems very thin, maybe too thin compared to the lower arm.
The elbows are what i like the least, while the hair, clothes and metal are the best parts imo.

The cool thing about this picture, aside from the amazing realism, is the character. It makes you wonder, why is she laying on a set of railroad tracks? Why is she so bored, as if being on railroad tracks is nothing new for her? What are the dead birds all about?
Amazing, just amazing.. a good picture always should spark the imagination.

holy s**t thats just plain awesome, like it makes me want to like jab myself with somehting lol (hmm well that sounded psychotic) in ay case the shirt is great the realism achieved only using one brush for the myriad of folds in it puts me to shame. I like the hair too tho maybe it coudl use some more contrast? and i think the nonchalant almost sneaky use of the yellow bandana on the neck is a great way to pul it all together, very nice especially for something expiremental

Wow amazing! I'm still using painter 7 as I don't have XP. I'm gonna get Painter 8 as soon as I have a new computer!! What brush did you use? Is it something in Painter 7 too? Just wondering because brush settings in Painter can be kinda hard to figure out. Thanks for the step by step, it's very inspiring!
