Anna looked around nervously at the surrounding forest. Reports of mechanical spiders were just about the only thing on the radio and television those days, and nowhere seemed to be safe. Every gust-stirred collection of leaves and quivering tree branch made her jumpy."Stop kidding around you two!" she barked and the two girls behind her. They hadn't even lifted one box yet. "If you're that more interested in each other than getting the supplies into the cave like Gia is, we can leave you out here when we shut the door! See how long you last when those things get their webs around you."
"Ah relax Anna." Song-li replied. "Those things are in the big cities, not backwoods Kentucky. Y'all are over-reacting."
"Then why are you joining us?"
"Uh, it's called a cozy little cave with three other gals, no waitressing duties for awhile, getting away from family and a good supply of booze. Plus my girlfriend is a member of your little survivalist group and I don't want her hanging around you two without me." Saanvi just rolled her eyes at the jealousy being displayed and made no attempt at dis-entangling herself from Song-Li.
Anna sighed. At least there would be more hands to share the chores with while they waited out the robot apocalypse. Hopefully.
