Description
Between two gigantic waterfalls, a lone structure pierces the sky. Bearing down upon the landscape the tower is almost overpowered, in spite of its enormity, by the vast spectacle of the landscape which supports it.An older image of mine.
Painted in Photoshop.

purely and simply stunning work Gary. Guh, as usual
The waterfall alone is Godlike, just knocks me back thoroughly, although at some points it looks alittle too much like a silky veil rather than water. Beautiful clouds, excellent addition with the planet.... and of course that structure tops it right off. awesome

I think the reflected area at the bottom right is a nice touch... the little things make the piece, sometimes.

Ok- I'm dumbfounded here.
Reminds me a lot of Tolkienish lore, but your style is your own.
(though you don't really need it, you have a lot of them already!)

It's inevitable dude, each time you do a new paint I always feel like I must add it to my fav list, and that is what will happen now: I will add it!!
(PS: I really want to try to do a digital painting some day soon. Have you ever thought in making a tutorial??)

Gary, the only word here that will be apropriate is stunning (heh, i know you are tired of hearing the same flattery over and over like an overused ..... phrase ) and i love how sharp your brushing is when it comes to the rock featurs of the canyon stunning work, you now have the
that you deserved origonally!
Also do i have permission to crop this to a destop size for personal use? I have no intent of being you!

Actually, a waterfall is a stupid place to put a city. The erosion will make the rock collapse in a few hundred years. Looks nice, though.

The combination of technology and wide open landscape is gorgeous. The lonely structure adds to the mood that the barren landscape sets. In my opinion a meeting of hope and despair.
Inspiring work!

think this is my favourite from out of all your works... and that says a lot : )... the canyons, mist and waterfalls are so beautifull... not to speak of the perspective you've se then that i'm in awe with your work... perhaps there just one little thing which could be enhaced and that are these clouds... could've had a bit more attention imo but everything else is just top of the bill... fascinating work

I like this. It's a random tower in the middle of nowhere... but it's brilliant. What do the red lights go to at the bottom of the waterfall? The planet/moon thing looks great.

This image is so detailed that I can't believe it. And the interesting thing is that some of the details come from the sparsity. It emphasizes the sense that we are looking at this scene from very far away. The colors are subtle and they work, and at the same time there are many. It is astounding.
Wow. I clicked on the thumb and it looked blurry as hell. I was so suprised. I am going to ravish your site with virtual sex.

aw, and here it is, my favourite of yours. compared to others of your pieces it may appear 'simple', no complex city, no mighty space scape...yet I feel power radiating from that image, and a feeling of getting lost in that vast landscape. I envy you for your skill of creating depth. starting with the dust in the forground, the 'sentinel' behind, the excellent waterfall, the misty landscape and the planet in the background.... you cover everything.
the clouds are soft, the mountains in the mid ground simple in shape, yet huge in size, and the rocks in the forground simply stunning, very sharply painted, full of cracks and with a very interesting shape...and flow. yeah, this hits it right I think.
when people 500 years ago believed in the world being a pizza they must have thought of its border somehow like this...it really looks as if world is ending there.
no need to say that it is technically perfect, from colours to contrast, sharpness, perspective and composition....no way not to fav this art
I bow my head
Daniel

Keep it up! Wow! I hope to be able to paint landscape with awesome sky like you!

mh well... in danger to repeat me - you're good in what you're doing... no question. even a 3d rendering program couldn't display a building, like the one in the pic, better. but ooooone little critique i have here. the foreground is created with so much love and detail - but then i look at the clouds in the back... right part. maybe it's because of the downsized jpg here... but the clouds look a bit too one dimensional. well... nonetheless a masterpiece... and surely a grace when framed and hanging on a wall.
