Slipstream the Hedgehog

Personality: Slipstream is a complete and utter himbo. He’s highly charismatic, great with sleight-of-hand, and adept at picking up social cues no matter the situation. He’s also really respectful to women, making sure they’re okay/alright when fighting, even when he’s on the losing end of a fight. He’s always on the lookout for people who need help, whether it be something simple as helping out with the farm or toppling a regime. It doesn’t matter to Slipstream; he’s always ready to jump in. However, this doesn’t mean that Slipstream follows his morals all the time.
Slipstream doesn’t care much about what his fights do for the surrounding area, as long as he gets the fight done; a ‘little’ calamity damage wouldn’t hurt anyone. Consequently, many view Slipstream as a ‘force of nature’, coming through and destroying anything he lands on. Slipstream takes loads of things in stride, to the detriment of those who don’t. Slipstream often angers anyone he comes across with a lassiez-faire attitude, often not taking the situation seriously nor thinking further than his own enjoyment. Always the first to fling himself into danger, Slipstream believes that he’ll come out on top of any situation he comes across.
Strengths: Slipstream is powerful in his speed and lightning-fast techniques. Often called the ‘Teal Hurricane’ when he was younger, Slipstream had similar abilities to go beyond the speed of sound with Sonic. While not as quick as Sonic, Slipstream’s own speed packs a punch capable of destroying glass in a 15km radius. On top of that, Slipstream can wield a claymore without it overbalancing him in any way. He’s also quite capable of tearing down and destroying things within 5 seconds – a feat not even Sonic can achieve with Eggman’s robots.
Slipstream is quick at understanding people’s feelings, even parsing out what they feel the most in their hearts. While not an empath, Slipstream understands emotional fatigue to the point of being able to calm people down by talking with everyone. He’s capable of taking charge whenever he feels like it, which often gives Aleena the rest she yearns for.
Weaknesses: Slipstream is one of the laziest people on the planet. He’ll often not bother to try and help at the most infuriating of times, such as when Harold needed someone to help find his son fast enough. Slipstream is not capable of time-management, often arriving late or not at all to important events. Slipstream really couldn’t care less about the damage he causes in any of his fights, often bringing the ire of politicians and people who live in the areas he often fights in. Slipstream really doesn’t care about how the public sees him, as long as he does the right thing – to the point where someone will write a smear on the hedgehog and Slipstream will automatically go ‘yeah, that’s all true’, regardless of most of the points being wrong or not.
Slipstream’s powers are the epitome of ‘cannot turn off’ no matter the situation. It took a long time for Slipstream to be able to control when he wants to be fast or naught, or when he needs his strength for certain projects. However, sometimes he lapses in judgement at how much strength/speed is needed for the situation, resulting in more problems than solutions. Slipstream isn’t good at sitting back when he’s not needed. When he sees strife, Slipstream is often the first one ready to the task, never thinking further beyond ‘someone needs help’. As such, Slipstream often ends up captured or stuck in situations where his life’s on the line due to his own lapse in judgement. Slipstream is also not good at swimming, having nearly drowned as a young child in rapid-flowing water. He avoids water if he can for this reason.
Hobbies: Slipstream is an active runner, a given since his abilities come from being faster than the speed of sound. He loves to demonstrate his abilities whenever he can, he enjoys the attention he gets whenever he demonstrates them. Especially the reactions of people that didn’t believe him Other hobbies include:
- Rock-climbing: Slipstream is surprisingly adept at climbing rock walls all over the world. Having had moments where he couldn’t use his legs, so he learnt to use his arms by rock climbing. Slipstream enjoys doing something slow, as it allows him to confront his thoughts on certain ideas.
- Flower-arranging: Slipstream often brings flowers home from his many trips around the world to place them into vases. Often the one to fill the room with many bouquets, Slipstream finds the most beautiful flowers to often arrange them beautifully.
- Card games: For some reason, Slipstream is good at sleight-of-hand, and often uses cards to demonstrate this ability. He’s often the first person to build a house of cards with his steady palms. He’s also good at using cards to distract when he needs them.

Dislikes: Being trapped, authoritative people, rich people, people manipulating Aleena, people manipulating him
Backstory: Born to a family that had lived in between the poverty line with his much older brother Chuck, Slipstream has always looked for ways to help as much as he can. From making cons to learning how to deal cards at the tender age of 6, Slipstream was helping get his parents money when they fell ill and couldn’t provide for both Chuck and Slipstream. Unfortunately, by the time Slipstream had his tenth birthday, their parents passed away, leaving the 18-year-old Chuck to provide for his younger brother.
Seeing the stress of his older brother while looking for work made Slipstream more determined to help Chuck in any way he could, and that meant getting himself into the darker side of everyday life – illegal boxing matches, vigilantism, stealing from the rich, the works. If Slipstream got money from it, it didn’t matter how much dirty work he needed to do to get it. When Charles went on to become a medical engineer, Slipstream decided to travel the world and take care of himself.
Slipstream eventually wound up in the Crystal Kingdom, hearing of its cruel king and distrusting princess. Having met Harold on his journeys, he placed a bet with the advisor that he (Slipstream) wouldn’t be able to help out Aleena. He took the princess Aleena on an adventure she’ll never forget, hoping to open up the princess to the outside world. At first, the two got along like cat and fish – with Aleena upset over Slipstream kidnapping her, while Slipstream himself regretting the bet in the first place. The two constantly argued at this point, driving Harold (who had tagged along to ‘make sure Slipstream or Aleena did not die) up the wall.
Harold, getting a bit pissed at the situation, left the two for a bit, where both Aleena and Slipstream ended up falling into a ravine. The two had been so pissed off toward one another that neither Aleena nor Slipstream saw the ledge – an attack from a rogue robot making the two fall. Slipstream, despite being the tougher of the two, ended up with his leg broken during the fall. Aleena had to work with Slipstream to get themselves back to Harold, leading to the two to be open about themselves.
Eventually, the two got out of the ravine, and eventually found Harold next to the rogue machine. Harold went looking for Aleena and Slipstream (as it had been a hour after he left the hedgehogs), only to find the robot that made them fall into the ravine. Harold destroyed the robot, then went to look for the two hedgehogs – whom had just come up as he was about to look down. Harold helped Slipstream be patched up for the hospital visit, and both Aleena and Slipstream clicked better than they had before.
All three had many adventures together, including introducing Chuck to Aleena and Harold. But the adventures don’t last forever. Eventually, it became time for Slipstream to take Aleena home… which Harold and Slipstream did.
Of course, Slipstream completely forgot about Alwin Soundbreaker – aka, Avarice – and was about to have his head chopped off when Aleena intervened, stating that Aleena herself fell in love with Slipstream while they were travelling. Alwin, deferring to his daughter’s happiness over his anger, complied with Aleena’s wish to let Slipstream go, on the condition that Slipstream never took Aleena without Alwin’s consent. Slipstream made no promises.
After that, Slipstream and Aleena got married, and they both lived happily ever after.
