Description
Hey guys check out this new illustration I did for Saurian. A sneaky acheroraptor is keeping a watchful eye on a mystery dinosaur. Bet you cant guess what it is. It may or may not make a really good desktop background...
Saurian is a new dinosaur game I'm working on. We aim for the most absurd scientific accuracy of any dinosaur project ever made. There are no people in Saurian, just prehistoric critters the way it should be. Also you actually get to play as the dinosaurs, so that's cool.

This picture is simply perfect. The colours, composition, perspective, everything.
No one brings dinosaurs to life like you do.

This made my jaw drop, literally. Probably one of the coolest bits of dino art I've ever seen. Also I just wanna say that the Saurian video game sounds awesome, idk why I've never heard of it before. A dino video game like that is what the world needs right now, and one I will definetly buy whenever it comes out.
also that mystery dinosaur is bugging me, I know what it is (the bony skull is tipping me off) but hell if I can remember its goddamn name or anything :I

Pachycephalosaurus is a bipedal, herbivorous dinosaur from Western North America at the end of the Cretaceous Period. This animal, which was surprisingly a distant relative to Triceratops, was known for a rounded dome on the top of its head that was made from 9 inches (or 22 centimeters) of solid bone. Recent studies in damaged skulls suggest the dinosaurs used their heads in some form of combat.

Okay. I did not know w=about the relation with ceratopsians. Next, the evidence for headbutting was dismissed because the damage and shock to the head would have been too great to withstand. They may of did it occasionally, like for ritual mating, but not all the time. And finally, as far as I remember, they only discovered the skull of one or two Pachycephalosaurus, which is not really enough to gauge it's size.

Actually, a paper released several years ago suggests the animals did indeed perform some forms of butting, with primary evidence being the fact that a number of skulls showed serious trauma: westerndigs.org/dome-headed-di…
Moreover, there are actually more Pachy skulls uncovered, as well as an incomplete specimen nicknamed "Sandy:" www.dinosaursanctuary.com/imag…

Oh okay thanks for the update! I just rember reading about one known skulla and theories on what the dome heads could have been used for. Another possibility is defense as well.
