I was recreating a colored piece in graphite, those highlites probably worked for color but not for pencil, i see what you mean. Thanks for the objective critique, it helps me become better in the future!!

First off I understand that this is 11 years old, "fan art", etc. Though because you chose to draw from a piece of existing art, I'd have to compare it based on accuracy AND by originality.
I think of all of the McFarlane copies you have in your gallery, I like this one the best because it shows the most originality. First off it isn't just a copy of the lineart, and second you done a great job converting the color work to pencil shading. In all it's a really well done contained piece of pencil work. The awkwardness of the pose comes from the original, which is the only thing that seems off about the piece. It loses a little bit of it's consise line work on the right leg, but the overall image isn't hampered becuase of it.
In the end the only thing that really bothers me about the piece is that it's a copy of an already established piece of art. It takes away from the piece and adds a false sence of recognition that's unsettling. Once again, I don't doubt your talent, just the idea of drawing from an already established and moderatly famous work. I can't credit you with the pose or where the shading lies, or the valuse of the different tones since someone already did that work for you.
