I like, in one way specifically. And no, It's nothing to do with how professional it looks. It has to do with the style itself. The way you shaded the black costume, it has a Kirby look to it; most notably your shading of the hood and ears. Next the pose, that exaggerated movie action pose. Special note on the left leg, with that leg foot twist as if to use it as a spring to push away.

What can I say, I'm on the lookout for anything that is or might have that Kirby look. Fueled by some comics being released on DVD. So please, feel free to ignore my Kirby addiction. I won't be offended if you do. And I still will like your art.

You can compare me to King Kirby any day!

You just made my day! Thanks!

Your welcome.

And to let you know, I don't hand out comparisons lightly. I'm way beyond seeing a few drawings of Kirby crackle and think I can compare other people's art to Jack. I consult his comics from time to time and try to adopt his flare; that's how familiar I'm trying to get. So what kind of volume do I have?

Comics:
Kamandi (all), Demon (all), Devil Dinosaur (most), Black Panther (most), Captain Victory, (maybe all), Eternals (all), Forever People (all), New Gods (all of the first run, I think he did a second run in the 80's??), Omac (maybe all), Mister Miracle (all), Silver Star (all), 2001 a Space Odyssey (maybe all, including the large format special), The Silver Surfer (trade paperback), Thor (a few) and then a few misc. others.

DVD (adobe acrobat format, 40 years per disk):
Hulk (all), Avengers (all), Captain America (all early 60's and late 70's), Fantastic Four (all 100 and something from #1)

Therefore, I don't hand out compliments lightly.

I don't claim to be an expert; but I am more than just someone who's seen a few drawings and thinks he knows what is Kirby-like.

Man, that is awesome.

I picked up a book called "How to Draw the Marvel Way" and it's got a lot of insight into what looks good versus what looks great.

It must be seeping into my art!

That is a good book. And of course one of the corner stones of the Marvel style is Jack Kirby. Who brought his love of films (movies) to comics (check out camera angles on some of Jack's head poses). So looking to movies is a good way to add to what your getting from your book. Because Jack, as a great artist, knew what was good when he saw it; and did honor some movies he liked, in his comics.

Some other additions you might want to look into: "Dynamic Anatomy" by Burne Hogarth (he also did books that focused on head and hands as well and are also good too), "Cartooning The Head & Figure" by Jack Hamm (poor on how to draw but has lots of examples on how to embellish reality, so it's not for the beginner artist), "The Complete Book Of Cartooning" by John Adkins Richardson (a how to draw book, spending some time on why you draw this way or that way instead of saying draw this way because it's right).

Lastly, "The Jack Kirby Collector" magazine and "The Collected Jack Kirby Collector" books Volume 1 to 5. This magazine (and the books collecting the magazines) talk about and analyses Jack's art. With the most valuable items (in my opinion) are reprints of pencils. The finished art is great to look at, but we know that some gems can be lost during clean-up and inking. I'm not sure what percentage of drawings is unfinished, but it's a good amount.

It may have done, can you help me find the problem? I can't see what's intersecting exactly.

Thanks, by the way!

Looks like a border of the layer comes to an end, maybe this is just a photoshop issue, try to save the picture again, or just try to lower the moon a little bit more low, that its light would not be cut off from above...
