"But anyway," Dahlia stood up now, having finished her cup. "I just happened to be in the area on some errands, and wanted to come by and check up on you, make sure everything was alright. Perhaps I'll come back later, when you remember more of yourself?" "Of course…. I look forward to meeting you again, sis." "'Sis'..." She sniffed. "At the very least, it seems that you haven't lost that awfully casual way of speaking to me. Gretel!" Though she didn't call out especially loudly, I heard the little girl upstairs respond, and she came down the stairs with Priscilla following behind her, smiles on both of their faces.

"Ms. Priscilla is so nice, mother!!" Tugging enthusiastically on her mother's sleeve, Gretel's eyes sparkled. "She doesn't know a lot of magic so I was trying to teach her how to make fire, and she made this reaaaalllly pretty white fire! It was so cool!!" "White flame…?" Dahlia blinked, a look of shock flashing across her face for a moment before being replaced by a thin smile. "Well then, I suppose I will see you soon, Valeria." "Bye bye!!!" As the two of them left Gretel turned around and waved (So. Cute.), and I waved back with a stupid smile on my face.

And just like that, the three of us were left alone in the house once more. I turned towards Celeste, quizzical. "Who… was that?" "Dahlia's your sister, Mistress… as she went to great pains to point out." Celeste sniffed, a slightly annoyed look on her face - somehow, I got the feeling that she didn't especially like this sister of mine. "She is eight years your senior… but with the time you were gone, the age difference between the two of you has widened even further." "Why didn't you tell me about her though!" "W-well, I didn't realize that Ms. Dahlia would be coming here today! And to be fair, a lot of things have happened over the past few days… it wasn't exactly at the top of the list of priorities."

"Oh…" Sneaking a glance at her watch, Priscilla started heading towards the door. "I should head back for dinner… they'd be worried about me otherwise." "See you tomorrow, Priscilla!" In a flash of light Priscilla was returned back to her male form, and as the front door closed behind her Celeste turned towards me. "I'll make something for dinner, Mistress… perhaps you would like to take a shower first?" "Sure… thanks, Celeste."

Something was bothering me. It nagged at a corner of my mind as I climbed the stairs and went into the master bedroom. I couldn't say exactly what it was… but it bothered me. Something that Dahlia had said just now, something I vaguely remembered Celeste saying before…. As I pulled open the wardrobe and pulled out a thin dress to wear, I glanced at my own reflection in the mirror that was hanging on the wall. Over the course of these two days, somehow I'd already kind of gotten used to seeing a girl staring back at me in the mirror instead of my usual dull face… it was almost kind of scary how the brain could adapt to its changed circumstances, to almost even remember these facts of my new reality as it they had always been true-

"Y-you remember…?"

Huh? I furrowed my brows, still staring at my own reflection as I tried to grasp at that stray memory. When… had I heard that being said? It must have been a while back, when I just woke up… Celeste. That look of shock on her face when she said those two words replayed over and over in my mind, coupled with what Dahlia had said to me… Slowly, the pieces were beginning to come together. As much as I hated the idea, feared it with every fiber of my being, I had to confirm my worst suspicion. I put the dress back onto the bed, and descended the stairs.
